Perfect Keto “Cheat” Snack Alternative
I’ve recently started to follow a keto diet and it’s been a struggle to find an occasional keto “cheat” snack (think potato chips) that wasn’t fried and was still low in carbs. I remember eating the “old school” fried pork rinds as a kid and these definitely seem like a slightly healthier alternative since they are baked while still maintaining the original pork rind flavor that I remember as a kid.I’m not sure if some of these other Amazon reviewers saying that they received bags with half of the pieces being hard / inedible (could crack your teeth) or others who claim that they don’t taste good may have received bad batches of this product, but that was not my personal experience at all. For someone that’s trying to stick with a keto diet while looking for an occasional “cheat” snack I think these Epic Pink Himilayan Baked Pork Rinds are just perfect - light and crunchy with good flavor (i.e. the complete opposite of what some of these other reviewers are saying)!

Better than expected!
Very impressed with the quality. Light, fluffy, airy, these skins have a great taste, not overly processed, and the best I’ve had so far…

The BEST pork rinds on the market for Keto or just general snacking
I have been doing strict, "clean" keto (which for me means dairy free, gluten free, organic, mostly plant based whole foods only with some animal protein) for a little over 3 months now and there are certain products that really make it so much easier to stick to it. During my early days, I found a lot of recipes for tortillas and wraps that call for pork rinds as a binding agent instead of flours or cheeses and quickly realized that most (pretty much all) pork rinds sold in stores are at very least fried (which is HORRIBLE for your health - I could go on and on about this but just take my word for it) and at worst are full of additives and ingredients that make them anything besides the "healthy" low carb keto snack that they're touted to be. I found these at a local Whole Foods and was thrilled to see that they are BAKED not fried with very minimal ingredients which in this flavor is just pork skins and Himalayan pink salt. HOORAY! I now have these in my Amazon subscribe and save for monthly delivery so I can use them to put in my food processor and make my homemade tortillas and wraps with them. The flavor is great! I will occasionally snack on a few, but mostly I use them ground up in other recipes. My only complaint is that usually about 1/3 of them are rock hard and dark (see pic of light and fluffy on the left and rock hard on the right). I don't know if this is a common issue with pork rinds in general or these specifically, but those ones are nearly impossible to eat or grind up in the food processor. For how expensive these are and how small the bag is, it seems like an awful lot of waste for the money, however it's a price I'm willing to pay because I have yet to find another baked pork rind ANYWHERE, let alone ones without added ingredients. The only other thing that could make these better is if the pork skin were sourced from organic, naturally raised pigs, without any hormones etc., but I realize that's asking a lot haha. In general I'm very pleased to have found these so I can cook with them. They also make a great substitute for panko bread crumbs. I can definitely recommend if you're on keto or are just trying to eat/snack more cleanly or more low carb! I hope this review has been helpful!

Great gluten-free snack.
I’m gluten-free so these snacks are packed with protein and a little bit of salt. Perfect for a gluten-free diet, specially when you wanna add a little protein.

3 Stars - Beware of hard overcooked pieces
Delicious flavor for ones that are fluffy. But, alot of hard dried out pieces that can crack teeth or choke on. Ended up throwing away a lot of those hard pieces. Only 1/2 of bag was ediable. The less fat causes them to taste dry/less rich. 4505 fried pork rind are better and no dried out pieces!

Baked pork rinds are awesome!
I love these pork rinds! I love the fact that they are baked and not fried. After I had bariatric surgery I got hooked on pork rinds because they don't spike sugar levels and just a few would fill up up as a snack. So when I found these I was ecstatic. I wish they had bigger bags and maybe less salt!

The only food these creatures wouldn't eat
I got these by accident (sea salt flavored). As a big fan of pork rinds, I was actually excited by the error. Excited until I actually tried one. They manage to be both dry and greasy. They have a stale/bland taste that is undeniably meaty, but not in a good way (in a morning-breath way).I work in the outdoors and thought maybe when really tired/hungry they would hit the spot. Even after several long days of lots of exertion in cold rain and sleeping in a only slightly warmer/drier tent, I still preferred cold plain instant oatmeal to these pork rinds. So dog treats? I gave one to my dog (a rescue Great Dane with an anxiety disorder). He tried to eat it and promptly tried to spit it out. It ended up stuck on his tongue and resulted in him frantically hopping around trying to get away from it. You read that right - not only would the dog not eat them, he fought to get it out of his mouth. So I tried feeding them to my friend's dog (a rescued street dog from Mexico City who currently suffers from senile dementia that often expresses itself as extreme food motivation). She too tried to spit it out. When offered a second pork rind, she backed away. I have NEVER seen this dog turn down anything resembling food, and she ran from these pork rinds. As a last resort, I gave them to my colleagues at ski patrol. These young adults who do hard physical labor in the cold for little money. These kids often stop by the local gas stations at closing-time to get the soon-to-be discarded meat that has been on heat rollers all day. They tried. They really tried. They even tried dipping them in various toppings (quesso dip, Heluva Good onion dip, hot salsa). These pork rinds are the only food they have turned down/thrown out. As one kid put it "I did not know anything made of pork could be so... yuck."
