Great design with functionality and durability
So glad I switched from my Tumi briefcase to a back pack. Much more comfortable and relieving back strain from carrying a traditional bag. This bag is very large (consider this if going with the large) and provides tons of easily accessible space. Being a consultant, it’s fantastic as it can easily hold a day or two of clothes if needed for shorter trips. The computer compartment is well padded and there are multiple organizing pockets in each of the two main compartments. It’s comfortable to wear around the city and thru airports. I also find it to be sleeker and better looking than the Tumi equivalent. If I had any con for this bag it would simply be the size of the side water bottle packets. While they will easily and securely hold a standard sized plastic water bottle (a plus), they won’t hold larger bottles or canisters. Otherwise I find the bag nearly perfect for my needs, provides great looks with high levels of functionality and durability.

Best non-spinner under-seat carryon.
I use this backpack for day-to-day toting for business. It handles my laptop, iPad, charging cords, Anker power source, and Anker wall charger, without a flaw. With all those items well protected, it has a substantial amount of room left for books/files, one or two water bottles (in the case, not in the water bottle holder), pens/pencils, headphone case, a clothing layer, a large toilet kit and a covered bowl of food. In addition, a zippered case at the top of the front panel keeps a passport/wallet, keys, boarding pass, etc. readily available. It fits under the seat in front. It is extremely comfortable as a backpack or over the shoulder pack. It's the most useful piece of luggage I've bought in a long time.

Perfect backpack for my needs
I had first ordered the Briggs & Riley HTA, Forest, Large Cargo Backpack and it was small and petite, like something a child would wear. The green also did not match the rest of my Briggs and Rily green luggage.I then ordered this Briggs & Riley @Work Large Cargo Backpack, Black, and I love it. It is decently sized and of excellent quality. It will be great for both carry-on and collecting product info at various trade shows.

Fantastic Bag, good value -- Follow up review
I have had this pack for six years, and it has been an excellent investment (and I do mean investment...I bought and paid for it, it's not a "review" free bag). I don't actually recall if I reviewed the backpack earlier.I'm mainly writing this review to suggest and address some things I've read in other review comments. In no particular order:1. There ARE pen loops in the top front compartment. The smaller (shorter?) sleeves in the lower compartment are for flash drives, not pens.2. There IS a business card pocket (actually a double one) in the front inside edge of the RFID pocket, next to the flash drive sleeves.3. The bag is, indeed, not waterproof. However, for less than $10, there are many different rain covers available here on Amazon (I keep mine folded up in one of the water bottle pockets). For the price, I do think it would be nice if B & R included one...in fact, in a future version, they should consider adding an attached rain cover in a bottom compartment, similar to those provided on lesser bags.4. MOST IMPORTANTLY this bag (and all Briggs & Riley bags and suitcases, etc.) have a "no questions asked, no receipt necessary, LIFETIME warranty". From the B & R website:"Our exclusive lifetime guarantee covers all repairs, free of charge, on all functional damage to your Briggs & Riley luggage. Your bag is covered forever, no receipt necessary."I have several B & R bags, briefcases, suit cases, and this backpack, and have used them all hard, for years, and have never had one fail.I have also used the warranty several times when airport/taxi/random handlers have caused damage...never had the slightest difficulty with B & R service.Much like finally pitching office-supply store desk chairs, and biting the bullet to purchase an AERON (with its super warranty, as well), I stopped fiddling with lesser travel bags and packs years ago.I agree that the cost of B & R luggage is kinda high, but in the long run, it's been worth it for me.

Amazing bag with useful storage areas
I've had this bag about two month and LOVE it. What I love most is the multiple and useful pockets and storage areas. This is my standard carry on bag for flights. Perfect for my 16' Mac book Pro, iPad Pro, 2 cell phone and multiple ear phones. There's plenty of room left over for a change of cloths, documents, chargers for all my devices and snacks for the plane. Highly recommend this bag for business travelers....it's functional and looks great.

Do not buy or if you do - do not use in rain!
At first thought this was a great back pack-made due with small water bottle holders-even bought initial tag. After using couple of months - had to walk in NYC rain for 15 minutes - opened back pack - rain soaked thru main compartment with zippers completely closed to the side. Called Briggs - basically told me bag is not water resistant - do not buy this bag if you intend to walk in the rain!! spent over $400 for a useless bag!! also - I never waste my time and write reviews - this one I did. Luckily Amazon customer service agreed to the return after 30 days, however, with a restocking fee, which I will gladly accept!

Amazing
This bag is LEGIT. High quality. Fairly large. Could probably double as a work/overnight bag. I have owned Tumi bags along with leather bags, however the Briggs and Riley backpack is, by far, my favorite.

Not the current model
Great backpack. Well designed, sturdy but not heavy. I really want to give it five stars but when I went to the Briggs & Riley website to register the bag for their bombproof warranty, I noticed significant differences between this bag and what is on the B&R site. I am keeping the bag because I need it for an upcoming trip and because of the price I paid. Be forewarned that you are getting this great price because it is not the updated model. If you are willing to pay extra, the newer bag may be worth it.
