so far so good. I just hooked it, and the dehumidifyer up today. The purchase was for crawl space moisture. Remote is mounted in living space next to thermostat. Everything seems to be functioning correctly. Remote detects both humidity and temperature. I hope accurately.Installation if done right needs the cat5 wire to be inside the wall cavity. Installation therefore requires abillities, but was not difficult. I bought a pull rod from the electrical department from lowes to run the wire.I can't say enough how in other foundatuons I have noticed dehumidifiers not running and in an error state. Monitor i hope fixes that.I am a contractor.

I installed the remote control two weeks ago and it is working great. We use the Dehumidifier in a tight craw space under our cabin at the lake and did not want to crawl under the house often to check on how the unit was doing. The remote makes it much easier to monitor how the AlorAir Sentinel HDi90 is working. It is a plug and play unit . It was one of the reasons why I bought The Sentinel HDi90 because of the remote monitor that we installed in the living area. Nice unit and a very fair price.

This remote controller seems well built. The cable to attach it to the dehumidifier is sturdy. The problem is that the attached instructions are confusing - i.e what is RT? There is an instructional video for the controller on YouTube, but it is useless since it is without sound. Why doesn't the company do a detailed YouTube video for every product (with sound). It doesn't cost anything to post (I think) and a video camera is cheap (or they can use their smartphone). I checked the relative humidity in the crawlspace after a day or two. The reading on the remote controller was 65% and a sling hydrometer reading was 62%. Impressive. I checked the remote controller against two standard hand held (and cheap) humidity instruments - the Oregon was 71% and the Acurite was 74% - not impressive. At least for a relative humidity in the low 60's you can rely on the remote controller.

The connection cord is very long ! Be sure to keep your instruction, so you know what all the features accomplish !

This remote can be a contoller for the dehumidifier. Placed this next to hvac controller and the ease of controling the humidity has never been easier. Dont have to check basement anymore too see the humidity level. A must have fore proper whole house dehumidification!!!

Easy installation. Better than crawling under the house to make adjustments.

In this day and age, general-purpose computers with orders of magnitude more computing power than those powering the first moon landing can be had for far less than half the price of this remote, and even your toaster for some reason comes with a sleek app.In contrast, there's not much on offer here: It doesn't come with an app. It doesn't do WiFi. It doesn't do Bluetooth. It can't communicate wirelessly to the dehumidifier. It doesn't even come with a timer to set a simple schedule.It is basically a glorified extension cord with a switch. That said, knowing all this, I still bought it... it works, and it does absolve me from trips to the crawlspace for changing settings. But given how limited it is, I'd consider $20-$30 a fair price.

I love it when you connect up new controls and they just work. I'm using this to control the dehumidifier in my crawl space. Would be even nicer if the controls also had a way of setting a timer to run "xx" hours per day besides just the humidity level.
