Beefy and thick, but requires extra work to install
I bought this to replace an aging masterlock hasp. It's not easy to install. I misaligned the bolt holes for the clip and the 4 bolts, so I had to ream the holes out bigger. The review by musicCritic is well done.

Very heavy duty - Need some DIY skills to install
I bought this to replace the junk $10 stainless hasp I bought previously. The good- Very heavy duty, thick steel, hardened "staple" for the lock. Through bolts instead of wood screws. Steel backing plates too. Made in Germany. The bad- the bolts are very long and the two that thread into the hinge side need to be shortened to the correct length to install. So you need a hack saw or cut off wheel to do that. Also I needed to use a 6mm-1.00 thread tap to clean out the threads from the powder coating before the bolts would thread in. Verdict- superior product as from a security stand point, but it takes some work to install it.

German design = efficiently secure hasp. Easy installation despite minor hardware issues.
Don't let the other reviews fool you; this ABUS hasp is simple to install. It even comes with instructions! The only setback I came across were the 6 provided fasteners, which are all M6-1.0 x 90mm (4 carriage bolts for the staple to be screwed from the outside + 2 hex bolts for the hasp to be screwed from the inside). This length could be awkward depending on application. In my case, they were either too long or too short—so, I just replaced them. For the staple, I used some GRK RSS #10's since the staple would be getting screwed to a 5" door jamb. For the hasp, I got a couple of stainless steel M6-1.0's in the shorter length that I needed to match my door thickness. The staple hole diameter is also more than adequate at a hair above 0.5". Perfectly fits the GRANIT padlock shackles, providing excellent security. Highly recommended!

Not too hard to install despite other reviews
i had to study the diagram that came with the lock and the helpful review by musicCritic before i could understand how this needs to be installed. Once i understood, the installation was no problem. Note that the screws are very long but my shed doors are very thick so the screws don't stick out the back much. Others might want to buy shorter screws or cut them shorter (which is not an easy thing to get right). i like that the screws don't show at all when the hasp is closed so thieves cannot cut them off, and cutting through the hasp would be a challenge. Your weakest point is the padlock, unless you buy a really good one.

Can be very difficult to install!
I think that there are lots of installation solutions that would not be as difficult as this hasp!

excellent quality
this is heavy and well made. It is used for a shed. To install it correctly you must put screws in from the inside of the shed which can be difficult. But it is so much better than the one I had that was cheap and could be pried off easily.

Great product but the poor instructions should be updated.
This seems very strong and sturdy which is just what I was looking for to protect my shed. It seems like it would be pretty hard for someone to get in with a good padlock on this hasp. This would be five stars if they just took the time to give more clear instructions. I am a handyman and had no problem getting it installed, but here's some info that I hope will help other installers.A. You will want to drill the holes for the bolts using a little bigger bit than you might otherwise. This will help you attach the backplates since it's unlikely you will be able to drill out the holes exactly straight.B. Note that the bolts for the small piece that the padlock goes through are inserted from the outside of the shed. But the bolts for the longer hasp piece are inserted from the inside of the shed.C. The instructions are missing one key point: before installing the hasp piece, screw on a nut all the way up near the head of each of the two hexagon-head bolts.D. To install the hasp piece, first do item C above. Then put the bolts through the back plate and push them through the shed wall from inside the shed. Then screw the bolts into the hasp hinge plate and tighten the bolts into the hinge plate. Then screw the nuts up to the back plate and tighten them.E. The amount the nuts will need to move to tighten the hasp piece depends on the thickness of the shed wall. In my case it was only about 1/2 inch but thinner shed walls would require it to move farther.

Abus hasp 125/150
I purchased the Abus Granit lock and this 125/150 Hasp in 2015, to secure my shed door. I've read some reviews on here stating how difficult it is to install this Hasp/latch. The hasp comes with a backing plate that you run four bolts through. If you can't drive straight holes for the bolts then it will be difficult. If you do good work, and you are careful with the projects you do, then this hasp is for you. If you do poor work, and your not careful with your projects, don't blame this latch/hasp. I did purchase four longer bolts to run them through a 2x4. You do have to be able to access both sides of your project to use bolts & nuts, with the backing plate. If you can't get to the other side, use screws. (The backing plate with four bolts through it make it impossible for this to be pried off).
