I have used these kind of extending rods over the years for net curtains and tried them for holding this pelmet type window dressing to help block out the sun in a morning and they do a great job. I also like that they came with the traditional type of thin, screw in metal hooks, the new sticky pad type wouldn't of done the job.

I have now received the item and am very pleased with it. Very easy to fit, Quick and simple. A good product. The only thing that I hadn't appreciated was that it wasn't spring loaded and didn't support itself within the window reveals therefore required fixings which were included.

This is an extendable rod, but it is not made clear that it is not a spring rod; i.e. it is not self supporting via a spring. Rather, you have to fit two or three hooks into the window frame which I did not want to do. So although it does the job, it does not get the thumbs up from me.

The photo on the picture shows a round version. When I recieved my item it was oval but nonetheless it works perfectly well so it's job done .
