Q: I want to cut a curving profile on a 14mm thick maple guitar headstock following a template using my T3 router. Is this be the most suitable cutter?

The profiler cutter has a cut length of 25.4mm, so can be used on material that is 14mm thick, however you will need to raise up the component from the work bench or work off the edge of the work bench so as to prevent the cutter damaging the bench top. Neil, Trend Technical Support.

Q: Are these bits any good for dovetail joints as im only a beginner i have the dovetail bit.

The make, Trend, are very high quality tools, the cutter in question is designed for the bearing to follow the profile of a jig whilst the cutting edges trim the wood to the same profile. I use mine for trimming the profile of guitar bodies. You could make a mortice and tenon joint but not a dovetail with it.
