Nice, thoughtful design
This is my 2nd Night Cat tent, the first being very small for bike touring. I like it well enough to invest in a larger one for car camping, and has been great on its first few outings. I like the ease & efficiency of set up and repacking, love having the “porch” or vestibule area for transitioning into the tent. I also appreciate the way the windows function with easy access zippers, and the center top hook for a light source, as well as the pockets for small important items—they are always used! While not fancy, my Night Cats are also reasonably priced and very functional for my use. Both have held up well so far in rain, wind, hot & cold situations.

This tent is easy to setup, seems to be really quick too!
The only issue I had with setup is after reading the instructions I found that your pins in picture three need to be on the vestibule side of the tent. I did notice that if you pull the tent tight make sure your already zipped up for the windows because they will be difficult to zip closed. The floor inside this tent doesn't seem to be super strong or rubberized like the military surplus I'm used to camping in. I was able to set this up with the instructions and do it in like twenty-five minutes so I think this tent is kind of quick to setup. I like that this tent has two doors (front and back). I like the vestibule and didn't use the plastic sheet for the floor to kick off my shoes since it's dry tonight. I like that this tent has two pockets and enough room for a few people and packs -the tent is a little much for backpacking but would be good for car camping! I set this up today in my backyard for a trial run since I want to test it out good before traveling and camping with it. This tent for the money is a good deal with the features it has. I'm rating it a four out of five! Thank you! -Mike

"Easy Quick" set up
I like the color and all the extra "outdoor" space under the rain cover. but...The first part of this tent sets up very quickly. Can be done solo. The second rain cover part is not so quick and has normal poles with a lot of set up. Without the rain cover there is a lot of mesh/openness. Putting on the rain cover took a lot of putting on and taking off to figure out which way- only clips on on side. You have to use stakes to old the rain cover up/on. I also has a little trouble figuring out how to get the "easy up" part down.I was hoping to give this tent to my 11 year old son to take camping with this Boy Scout troop solo but really don't think he will be able to do solo.

Great tent
I've used this tent for about 10 nights now. It's really nice and easy to assemble. The only problem I've had is that a moderate wind broke the pole for the vestibule. It still works but I will be looking to replace it hopefully. The tent itself is great. You can use it without the rain cover if it's going to be a dry night. It's an instant tent style so it's very easy to put up and take down. I can't quite get it to fit back in the bag though. It's comfortable to sleep in. I can't fit my cot in it straight but it fits on a diagonal angle. This is truly a one person tent. There is no way 3 people would be comfortable in there.I love the vestibule (aside from my pole getting broken. The bathtub floor kept the rain out completely even during some heavy rain. The rainfly works great too. It's easy to clip it onto the main tent.Overall this is really well designed and easy to use. I really like it. I'd recommend it for sure.

This is one weird tent and that's just what I need!
I have never seen a tent like this Nightcat cabin tent. It is perfect for what I need. It is exactly as long as my cots and could fit two of them with a skinny aisle between them. The setup is really quick since the main poles are attached to the tent. It is sturdy and I love the shape, very steep sides. I have used a dome tent that stands this high but the sides are so sloped you waste a lot of space if you are sleeping in a cot.The main part of the tent is mostly mosquito netting so you get plenty of ventilation. The cover is waterproof and much thicker material. The connectors are nice snap buckles instead of some cheesy snap or elastic. I really love the large "vestibule" space by one of the doors. Plenty of room to keep gear out of the weather. The other door has a decent space in it too. It is much lighter and smaller than the dome tent I have been using. It would be nice if the outside windows and the main door had poles to prop up the cover like a fly instead of just rolling up. I'm sure I can figure out some way to rig it myself.I love this little cabin tent!
