I bought this primarily for the Magic Circle making ability. It looked sturdier than other products I researched.It works great with a little practice. And it's very durable.

It is ok maybe for complete beginners however it is a bit fiddley. I was hoping it would alleviate some of the pressure on the thumb holding the project but it does not. Probably ok for magic circle but I haven’t tested it yet.

Be prepared for the learning curve on this item. It was important to me because I have arthritis in my hands and I've also had a couple of surgeries on my hands and wrists. I really needed something to help me with tension and the rings just were not working at all. I was excited to try this! I did find it quite fumbly. I fought with both the yarn and holding this gadget. I did pretty good just doing straight double/single crochet stitches, but doing the magic ring was harder than using just my hands, and working with large projects was also hard. I believe its really just that darn learning curve where I've done enough to know where to put my yarn and my hands, etc. I will keep working with it because I know the older I get, the more I'm going to need this. I'm pretty confident that one day I will be good at it and glad I bought it. My word to the wise: If you don't absolutely need this, don't waste your time with it. It is very fumbly and awkward, and you'll get frustrated before you ever get good at using it. It's best used for those who need it and have the motivation to stick with it.

This makes tensioning extremely easy and prevents me from over pulling the thread. Works excellent! Relatively comfortable to hold and use for extended periods of time.

This product is useless. It is made very cheaply and it shows. It is too bulky to use to keep tension correct, a little practice and you will have that down. I bought it to make magic rings. It makes it more difficult then necessary. Watch a few YouTube videos and you can do it easier. I had this marked to return but missed the window due to travel.

I have nerve damage and pain in my hand and unfortunately this did not help. I think you would have to be having a very specific type of pain when crocheting for this for help and I don't think you'll know if it is for you until you try it. Other than that it is very bulky and gets in the way a lot. It will slow you down. If you're a beginner just learn how to crochet without it, it's hard at first yes but better in the long run. If you have pain, you'll need to try it out to see if it's worth it. But it WILL get in the way and make you slower either way.

Game changer! Wanted to start crocheting but was having trouble maintaining tension because of arthritis in my hands.This does exactly what it says it does, it also helped me learn the magic circle technique I was having trouble learning.

I saw someone asking about this on one of the crocheting Facebook pages. It had me completely intrigued. It is very strong and sturdy. It also seems very simple to use. With that in mind, if you crochet on a regular bases this will be difficulty to change everything about your crocheting habit. I am use to wrapping the yarn around my pinky; we all have our own way of wrapping it around our hands for tension. If you think your technique is close to what the picture shows then it will definitely work for you. It just isn’t working for me and got me very frustrated. Now, if you are just learning how to crochet and do not have your own habits yet, this product would do wonders. My hand definitely did not hurt as it always does. Sadly, it has slowed me down tremendously and frustrated me so I am probably going to have to returns this. I wish the person who had this genius idea the best of luck with this product.
