Which is easy and fun family game? Dungeons and dragons or catan?

Dungeons and dragons tend to involve a lot of minute details, which brings up complexity. It also is heavily dependent on the DM for making it more inclusive. I've played settlers of catan once a week with a group of 6 people every weekend. Age groups 10-65, everyone I have played with enjoyed it. Easy to grasp the rules, and also come up with some home rules to add a bit of spice to the game. Would recommend catan.
