Prestige Cool Coat for Dogs, S, Yellow

I bought 2 of these and am about to order a third so that speaks well of them.They are of a similar material to shammy leather when dry, you soak them in water, gently for a couple of minutes and they transform into a sort of wetsuit feel, but softer and lovely in texture with stretch.You then squeeze out the excess water and dress your dog. Simple and highly effective in our experience.I find they stay cool for over 3 hours when they can be resoaked and reapplied.I ordered a large for my portly staffy and an extra large for my large Labrador but found the large fit them both better, I probably could have downsized both.I have 2 gripes and they are that they become extremely brittle when dry. This meant that the hole for the lead ripped on first use as I hadn't noticed it had dried and underestimated the fragility of the dry material. However, I forgo using the leash hole altogether now and keep an eye on them.And the price, it varies according to the season, to be expected perhaps but I paid £10 for the large in the spring and it is now 3x the price.Still, worth the price tag to keep the dogs healthy and comfortable. Now I just want people to stop asking me why my dog has a coat on!

I have a big, dark GSD who overheats like nobody's business. When he's wearing the cool coat, he can keep going in 25+ degree weather for over an hour without issue (provided I keep his paws off scorching pavement).He has no problems with the coat, let's me put it on without issue and doesn't try to pull it off or scratch at it, he seems plenty comfortable.2 issues - the price is a bit steep, but I can out that down to the material, which is quite clever (though absolutely not colourfast - 2 washes in the machine and it's gone from blue to stark white).Second, the sizing. My boy is exactly on the crossover between large and extra large, so I went with the XL to accommodate any extra growth and for comfort's sake.Unfortunately, it's a few inches too big and slides around a bit when he's walking. The straps are too large to the point that they need to be tightened well beyond the velcro, so it's really not all that secure.Lastly, the lower strap is situated exactly by his lipstick, so when he cocks his leg, he will, without fail, soak the strap in pee.On a bigger dog, this wouldn't be an issue, but i don't think a large would have been big enough for him.Overall, the coat does exactly what is says on the tin and it does it very well. If it fit better, it would be perfect, and this won't be an issue for many dogs.

Does the job really well at keeping my black dog cool on warmer days and you can definitely feel the difference underneath the coat compared to other exposed areas.It takes quite a bit of 'smushing' to get the coat fully wet however, the first time I used it I didn't quite wet it through enough and it dried out quite quickly, but I didn't realise this until I came to use it again (I don't know if it was maybe coated with something that made it weird the first use?).Con that it's not the most stylish of items though, with a lighter pink colour then I expected. It's also a little ill fitting too, as my dog is large, but quite slim. . .that is true of most other products designed for large breeds however. When dry the coat feels like a cross between paper and cardboard and to be honest, I don't expect it to last past this year without damage. It's still super useful however and I would consider buying one again should it become torn.

It does keep our furry one (golden doodle)cool, but securing tapes are not very robust so if we leave coat on him when in the garden at home, the chest one does not always stay secure. As these coats are not particularly cheap, would have expect better quality

Great product. It’s made such a difference for my dogue de Bordeaux. He doesn’t generally like a coat, but seems quite happy in this one and it stays cool for hours, and so does he. The only frustration is that he is between sizes. I’ve gone for the XL and I think that was the best option but it means that the straps are often hanging down and flapping about despite my best efforts to tuck them out of the way.

Today 22 C and I can feel the heat in the house. I bought this for the days like this. I soaked it and squeeze the water out and put it on to my girl, she seems comfy and must like it because she settled in straight away.Only issue is that I order M according to the size guide, but it’s waaay tooo big.It’s more like blanket than a coat. I ordered second one S size hope that would fit better.

These coats are really useful and really help keeping your dog cool in doors and outdoors BUT the sizing seems very inconsistent: I bought a small size for my Westie and it was short (I had to sew elastics to the straps to be able to close it). This is my second coat, bought a M for a Fox Terrier and it’s way too big and nit easily adjustable.This item needs a detail size chart to guide the purchase.

Seems to work well, my dense coated dog likes it too. Shame it seems to look filthy just in getting it wet. Doesn't last more than an hour or so without drying out in this heat. Beware that it seems to be for the barrel shaped dogs. It's not quite long enough, but way to big round for my Nizinny. A bit of nip and tucking has fixed this so that it doesn't swing round on her.
