Works well, but a little pricey and complicated.
I thought for what it does, it seemed a bit pricey. However they got you here, because as far as I am concerned it is the only way to control it. The fan is in the attic and you want to control it from some distant part of the house. Whether professionally installed or DIY, wireless is the only way to go and it does work flawlessly, at least in my case. The method of controlling the starting, speed and duration is not very intuitive. I am comfortable with multi-function control buttons, but my wife is not. As a result, she will not touch it. If it had separate control for each function it would be much easier to understand. It should be as easy to operate as a HVAC thermostat. The installation is easy, however getting it open to insert the batteries without destroying it was a bit challenging. I definitely left some screwdriver scars on the casing.

Works great. SAVES time and money.
If you buy a QuietCool fan, do yourself a favor and spend a little extra more, and buy this remote unit. It works flawlessly, and saves you from having to drill down through your wall, installing an electrical box, and running multiple lengths of Romex between the hardwired timer and switch you would have to purchase separately anyway. The remote unit takes about ten minutes to install on the fan. It takes another two or three minutes to pair the remote control with the remote unit. That's it. That's ALL. It takes all of the electrical voodoo out of installing the fan.I have only one minor gripe with the remote control. There's no "on/off" function; just a high-medium-low button, and a timer button, which gives you the choice of 1, 2, 4, 8, or 12 hours of run time. To turn the fan on, you have to push either button once to wake the remote up. Then you have to pick a fan speed, and then choose the amount of run time. To turn the fan off, you need to toggle through all of the time choices until all of the LED's above the numbers go out. That's how you shut it off. It's klunky. That being said, it takes about two minutes to figure out and put into practice. It's worth putting up with though, given the time it saves when setting up the fan, and the ability to take the remote with you anywhere in the house. As for the fan, I live in the desert. I turn the fan on in the early morning and in the evening to cool the house down. The fan does exactly that. After the house is cool, I close the house up. The average highs for June, 2020 and June 2019 were within a degree of each other. The A/C ran for a total of 6 hours last June, and 3.5 hours this June, as recorded by my Nest thermostat. I don't regret buying the fan one bit. If you need a whole-house fan, you will LOVE the QuietCool fan!

If you buy a QuietCool, you will want this.
It works perfectly. The user interface is a bit off. You push the button multiple times to turn it on. It should just have an on and off. The timing and fan speed should be separate. When you turn it on, it should remember the last settings. But it does work and no wiring was required.

Hard wired was impractical for my needs, so I tried this and it has worked great so far.
I'd always pick a hardwired setup (no worries about battery life, signal interference, longevity, etc.). But that was impractical for my situation and this has worked great for about a year. It's nice to have the on/off, timer, and speed control all in a one gang space. No regrets so far.

Works Great - Easy Install
Wiring this up was a breeze. It has no problem communicating with the fan in the attic around 40ft away.

works perfectly with Quiet Cool asttic fan
installed attic fan myself. tried hard switch, but decided to go with this and glad I did, more convenient. wiring did take quite a few youtube views to be sure it was right - suggest testing before attic install. the remote unit pairs with the attic control unit, and retains the pairing despite power cycle (I was worried about having to go up in the attic for any power blip - but not a problem)
