Well worth it
2 week tryout on the AT, and 300 miles on the PCT, no blisters or issues with my feet whatsoever. Great liners (of course, I wore these under wool hiking socks and quality hiking shoes... Altra Lone Peak, Topo Terraventure)

Florida liner: a little on the heavy side and runs a little small but 5-stars
I wear these as socks, even on short hikes. They've wicked moisture well for me as liners for waterproof boots before I moved to Florida. Now that I'm in Florida, we are always stepping in something wet and our boots are intended to let water out so it's important that these shed water away from the skin - and they do.I ordered large for 11+ shoes/boots although the chart sizing suggests medium. I'm glad I did because they fit great - not loose but not tight either. The Fox brand is much lighter and what I think of as a true liner, and I can't say for sure that these do a better job keeping your feet from soaking in water since our boots are so porous. I wear Fox as regular socks too, as well as Smartwool liners, which are a little heavier. Of the three I prefer these although I find the Fox "green" color goes with most of my casual clothes better.

To me they're just thin socks
OK this is surely one of those subjective, YMMV type things. I know a lot of trail hikers RAVE about these things. "Never get a blister again." "Feet stay dry all day". Etc.I've tried them on 3 hikes now, and I didn't have that experience. They were too thin to use on their own, but too bulky with an added sock over them. My feet didn't stay any drier than with other socks, and used alone, they were too thin to prevent blisters. The one time I didn't get a chance to try them was in winter (it's fall right now, with a few months to go). Maybe I'll update this review then. But at least so far, I personally prefer a traditional hiking sock.

Good socks, maybe a little too thick for a liner.
I bought a pair of these, a pair of Fox River liners, and a pair of Thermasilk liners, and these are clearly the best of the three for my needs. They aren't nearly as thick as traditional athletic socks, but are substantially thicker than any other liner I've used. I don't use them as liners, but wear them with sneakers. They seem quite well built, and I anticipate they'll hold up well over time.I really like the elastic. They've got a relatively high spandex content, so don't immediately get all stretched out, and the elastic band is consistent, top to bottom. Other socks I've used have a ring of extra strong elastic at the top, and that can kind of dig into your leg after a long day. These don't.If I were after true liner socks, I'd want something thinner. These just seem too think for liners in anything but the coldest conditions. The favorite liners I've ever owned are Wigwam Ironman crew length socks. Unfortunately, it looks like they are no longer available in crew length. I wasn't impressed by the Fox River or Thermasilk socks I tried.

I have been wearing this style of socks for over 30 years. Perfect for my work days and for hiking, snowshoeing and for general use. Long lasting. I keep buying as needed.

Must have piece of kit
Most comfortable sock liners I’ve ever had. Into hiking, camping? These are an absolutely essential piece of kit you will ever buy. Protect the feet! Not getting these just means you’re not an experienced hiker, no matter how many 1000km you’ve been on the trail, period! Get them, try them and ditch them if they don’t work for you. You won’t be sorry. Leukotape is the other side of the triangle, that and proper shoes.
