Olde Thompson 7" Del Norte Adjustable Pepper Mill

I have had the smaller grinder and salt shaker set by Olde Thompson for over 20 years and have loved them! This 7" grinder is every bit as nice and works well. I hope it lasts as long. The body of all of them is acrylic and looks great and lasts quite well. Olde Thompson is a long standing U.S. company (in California). I was surprised to find that these products are actually made in China. Not a deal breaker, as most products are made in China anymore. Recommend.

I like the size of this grinder, and it looks good, quality, you can adjust from fine to course.

I bought two- one for pepper and one for sea salt in a heavy use kitchen. They match my aesthetic and both worked great… for a few weeks. The one used for sea salt stopped working about when my return window expired. I have emptied it, examined it and I just can’t see a reason it would stop grinding. It turns and makes a grinding sound but no salt emerges. Is it the salt or the grinder, or both? I would not recommend use for salt. The one we use for pepper is still somewhat functional four months later. The grind is very uneven and difficult to adjust. I feel it is slowly dying as well. I hate spending time on shopping for something that turns out to be disposable style. If you want any sort of function or long term use, I would look elsewhere. I know I will.

I have had this for some time now and I do like it. I have noticed one little quirk with it. On occasion it seems to kind of get stuck. This is usually remedied by turning it upside down and then turning the knob. Sort of annoying, but overall not a big deal. I find its easiest to load by making a funnel out of paper rather than attempt to pour the pepper directly into this as the opening is small. The size of this mill is good for my family. The tall ones look cooler, but this takes up much less space. Overall I am happy with this purchase and I feel comfortable recommending it to others.

We actually purchased this Olde Thompson Del Norte Pepper Mill to match a Salt Mill by the same company that we had been using for years. We really liked the Salt Mill, and had been keeping our eye out for a Pepper Mill that would go with it when I thought of searching Amazon for one, and bingo! There it was, by the same company and the very same design. I couldn't be happier, as the mills are quality-made and do a great job for what they were made to do... grind salt and pepper! Thank you!

I recently bought two of these to give as gifts. I love, love my pepper grinder that I've had for 15 years so I looked up the brand and this is it! Totally works great and worth the cost! I was disappointed that the second one I bought to give as a gift, the gift box it comes with was busted. :( I still have the box mine came in 15 years ago so I was really upset. (It was Amazon's fault but there was no way to get it replaced if the item itself wasn't damaged. :'( )

I have been using this pepper grinder for years. This is the 3rd one I have ordered. What I like about it: size, shape and grinding quality. It is just the right size and as far as ergonomics, easy to hold it and grind the pepper. Clear acrylic lets you know when you're getting low on peppercorns and need to add more. Grinder works well allowing for adjustment of fine to coarse grind. Easy to clean. What needs to be improved: Poor acrylic! The acrylic starts cracking very soon after you start using it. Already, on this one I am using, the acrylic is cracked throughout, so it's just a matter of time before the base separates off again; hence, why I have purchased my 3rd one. I have not dropped it and this happened to the last one I bought as well. I still have my original Olde Thompson acrylic salt grinder when I bought the first set and the salt grinder does not have any cracking on the acrylic, and the base never separated from it. Could you PLEASE fix this? That would make this product go from a good one to a great one! Or, offer this in a thick tempered glass instead of acrylic - that would be the absolute best!! Filling the grinder: I cup my hand around the top when pouring in the peppercorns so they don't fall all over the place. Thank you!

Wrote a good review the first time but now I am very disappointed because when I unscrewed the pin to add more pepper corns I cannot screw the pin back on & it’s too late to send it back

Pepper mill was not adjustable so had to buy a different one.
