Jagged edge
I love Churchill fins and I've used them exclusively since I was a teenager in the 80s for body surfing, boogie boarding and snorkeling. I needed some new ones and I was intrigued by the gumby green colored ones. They seem as good as their classic blue and yellow fins, and I would have given a 5 star review if it wasn't for the badly finished edge on the straps. If you look closely you can see that the edge of the straps and the opening are jagged, which makes for an uncomfortable wear on your ankles and the tops of your feet. It seems like they used a box knife to hack off the extra rubber when they came out of the mold. I'm going to keep them, though because I know they work well in the water. I will try and clean up the edge a little myself, though I shouldn't have to do this for a pricey pair of fins.

Not the original green Churchhills
These fins are advertised as retro remakes of the original "Greenies". I've been surfing and ocean swimming with the original green Churchills for over 50 years. My last pair went flippers up a few years ago. These are not a remake of the original. They are made of a very stiff rubber throughout. The originals were a soft, extremely comfortable gum rubber throughout - perfect for body surfing. The color is clearly different. Even the foot box is smaller than advertised. If you want something closer to the feel of the originals dark green Churchills, get the blue and yellow Makapuu model. For the record I've surfed Makapuu Beach , a famous Hawaiian body surfing break, for many years.
