This model is an excellent choice if you prioritize durability and battery life!
The FOSSIBOT F105 Rugged Smartphone is a robust device designed for durability and longevity. Here’s a breakdown of its key features: Features and Specs Operating System: Runs on Android 14, offering the latest features and security updates. Battery: Equipped with a massive 10,300mAh battery, which is ideal for extended use without needing frequent recharges. This battery size can last several days on a single charge, depending on usage. Memory: Comes with 12GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. RAM: 12GB is quite substantial for multitasking and ensures smooth performance with minimal lag. Storage: 64GB may be limiting for heavy users, but many rugged phones support expandable storage via a microSD card. Durability: As a rugged smartphone, the FOSSIBOT F105 is likely built to withstand harsh conditions, such as drops, dust, and water. It’s suitable for outdoor or industrial environments. Other Features: Likely includes IP68/IP69K water and dust resistance. Drop resistance for durability in tough environments. Features typical of rugged phones, such as reinforced edges and a sturdy frame. Ideal Users This phone is great for those needing a reliable device for work in challenging environments (e.g., construction, outdoor adventures) or anyone who wants a long-lasting battery without frequent charging. This model is an excellent choice if you prioritize durability and battery life over high-end specs, making it a solid option for everyday rugged use.

Unbearably slow and not durable
Really bad phone. Lasted about 1 month before it became unusably slow. Apps never work in the background, and have to reload/ reset upon switching back. For instance if I have a route on google maps open, and have to switch to chrome or phone, then the route will be reset and I have to type it in from scratch. Claims to be durable but the camera bezel on the back almost immediately came loose and there is a visible seam between it and the frame.

Worth the price
The phone is pretty good for the price. I can confirm it works with Boost Mobile. Pros: 1) Dual SIM. So you can have two carriers and maximize coverage. 2) Tough. It’s built like a brick. However, there are some caveats that will be in the cons. 3) Battery life is outstanding! If it’s just sitting, it will last over a week. 4) Big screen if you like that. 5) Android 14.0. 6) Photo quality is good. Not the best. No panoramic or extra features. 7) Antenna quality is adequate. 8) Nice loud speaker. Probably the best I’ve ever heard. Cons: 1) A very heavy phone. You are going to notice it. It’s about 3x as heavy as my iPhone. 2) Even though it is tough, the cameras protrude on the back, so they can be wrecked if dropped. 3) It’s big. You could almost consider it a mini tablet. 4) It’s not very fast. There is some noticeable lag, especially for a few minutes after restarting it. 5) The advertised 12GB memory is not completely true. It is 4GB and you can boost it to 12B by using storage space. 6) The fingerprint scanner is fussy. 7) The front camera is not good for face recognition because it seem to be pointed upward a few degrees. So you will be looking at it and it’s only getting the top of your head. It is slow detection too. 8) No SD slot for extra storage! It would really add value, but alas, there is not slot. If you need a low cost phone, that is fairly tough, has a large screen, and dual SIM, this is it. Just understand that you are buying a heavy brick.

I feel confident that this device will hold up over time
I got it with a Type-C cable, a 10W charger, a brief user manual, and a SIM card pin. The phone feels substantial in my hand. Its rugged construction feels like it could handle a drop or two, and I feel its build will last me a long time. It came with Android 14 and the latest security patch from July 5, 2024. Having an up-to-date security patch gives me a greater sense of security, as it reassures me that my data is protected against the latest threats. Because it’s waterproof, the USB port and headphone jack are tightly sealed with a rubber cover. The SIM and SD card slots are also protected this way. Using the Android System Info app by Arum Communications from the Google Play Store, I learned the system is based on Android's ART 2.1 runtime. It has SELinux enforcing mode for added security. It supports the OpenSSL 1.1.1 (BoringSSL) library for strong encryption and secure data transactions. Additionally, USB debugging is disabled by default, but I could easily enable it by activating Developer Options. I checked the device's network capabilities. I found it supports dual SIM cards, so I can use two different cellphone lines. But I noticed that only one SIM card is active at a time, which is ok for me. The device has 64 GB of internal storage, with 36.74 GB free at setup. It also supports external storage, with my 125.8 GB SD card recognized and almost entirely available. This means I can expand my storage and keep large files like videos and photos on the SD card, which keeps my internal storage free for apps and system files. The app Android System Info tells me I can use SD cards with storage of up to 1 TB. I have 4 GB of RAM, of which about 1 GB is typically available. The device also includes 3.15 GB of swap memory, which aids in multitasking by acting as virtual memory when RAM is maxed out. As for connectivity, Wi-Fi is stable, with support for the 5 GHz band and a maximum link speed of 433 Mbps, which is fast enough for me to stream HD videos without buffering. I can connect to public Wi-Fi hotspots with WPA3-Personal, which is a strong encryption standard. Additionally, the phone has IPv6 support. The CPU is an octa-core MediaTek MT6762 with cores clocked between 400 MHz and 2001 MHz. I can complete multiple tasks without draining the battery too quickly. The GPU is OpenGL ES 3.2 compatible, which doesn’t support advanced options like HDR or sRGB. For me, the battery life is a major strength because of its 10,300 mAh capacity. Even with intense usage, the phone lasts me all day, and I’ve gone multiple days on a single charge when usage is light. The battery’s health status is reported as “Good,” and it maintains a safe operating temperature around 35.7°C. With the discharge rate shown around -454.5 mA, I can see that the battery management is efficient even when multitasking. The phone also provides a detailed battery breakdown, showing me exactly how much time I have left at the current charge level, which is useful for planning my charging routine. The display on this device is about 6 3/4 inches with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. For me, this is sufficient for both reading text and watching videos without eye strain. It’s a 20:9 aspect ratio, which renders ok in portrait and landscape modes, though I don’t get HDR and sRGB support, so I’m missing vibrant color accuracy and the density is only 238 dpi. This device has multiple Bluetooth functions, including Low Energy and multiple advertisement slots. It also has offloaded scan batching and filtering, so I get stable connections without excessive power usage. I can pair it with multiple devices without noticing any interruptions. That’s important because I often use my Bluetooth earbuds, smartwatch and other devices simultaneously. Going through the settings, I learned that it does not support NFC (Near Field Communication), which, for me, is actually a positive. Without NFC, there’s one less access point for unauthorized data transfers or hacking attempts. I feel safer knowing that NFC is absent. I value privacy and security over faster but less secure NFC payments. Besides, I do almost all of my shopping online and rarely make in-store purchases, so I wouldn’t have many opportunities to use NFC even if it were available. The cameras, while not extraordinary, have a variety of scene modes like face priority, action, landscape, and night mode. The inclusion of scene modes like beach, snow, sunset, and steady photo lets me tailor shots to specific environments and lighting conditions, which help me take photos in challenging light. Both the main 12.5 MP camera and the 5 MP selfie camera support autofocus options, including continuous video focus for less blurry video recording. The main camera has two auxiliary cameras and flash. By the way, I can use the camera app directly to scan barcodes and QR codes. For its rugged design, I do have some bulk, so fitting it into small or tight pockets can be a challenge for me. But the trade-off for its durability is worth it for me. The device is water-resistant and dust-proof, and its tough build protects it from accidental drops and impacts. That’s why I never feel like I have to handle it with extreme care. I’ve been using it for roughly two months with minimal care, and it’s been working ok.

sleek looking phone
I have been using this phone with WiFi only. It works well as a mini Android tablet. In my home, I can watch TV, play games, browse the web, etc. I have Xfinity Mobile for my service. Overall quality is good, and the back design is pretty cool and looks sleek. The battery lasts the full day except when gaming but that’s a given. Functionally, all aspects of a phone work; the camera is good, mic is clear and you can browse things easily through chrome. This phone has more than enough space at 128gb so all the contacts and games they wanted could easily be downloaded; anything extra was sent to the cloud. And setting up was standard android startup so easy my uncle could do it.

Rugged Smartphone Unlocked
The outside of the phone is rugged and gripping, giving it a robust feel when held in the hand. Additionally, it is somewhat heavier than the typical smartphone, which is something that I really prefer since it provides me another feeling of protection. There was not a single scratch or ding on it, despite the fact that I dropped it by mistake a couple of times when I was out on several hiking expeditions. In spite of the fact that I put it in a puddle, it continued to operate without any problems whatsoever. It is comforting to become aware of the fact that it is able to easily tolerate exposure to dust and water. It is possible for me to spend up to three days without charging it, even when I use it moderately to heavily. The use of GPS for navigation, capturing photographs, and even streaming certain films are all included in this aspect. Due to the fact that I no longer need to carry about a power bank while I am on the go, I believe that this feature alone provides sufficient justification for the purchase. Due to the fact that the phone enables over-the-air charging, I have been able to use it to charge other devices in times of crisis, which has proven to be really helpful on several occasions.
