sifts through your garbage bins, and walks into your house un-announced whenever ...
I held-on to my Blackberry Torch 9810 (An Epic Phone, by the way.. If only Blackberry made an OS 10 version...sigh!) for as long as I could. I was hoping to be impressed by the "Classic" or "Passport" phones, but I was underwhelmed by their form. With a heavy heart I started looking through countless product reviews for smart-phones around Christmas-time 2014. With an aversion to the Phablet-Form trend, I homed in on the "Mini" versions of the Market leaders. Faced with a short-list of the Samsung S5 Mini, (Samsung S4 Mini, due to size), and Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, I elected the latter to be my new phone. As a phone, The Xperia Z3 Compact is an outstanding piece of kit, once you`ve managed to rid all of the Sony Software baggage that it comes with. My problem with it is a major one: The Operating System ANDROID..... AAARRRHH!!! I can only liken ANDROID to a nosey-neighbour who peeks through your windows, sifts through your garbage bins, and walks into your house un-announced whenever they feel like it. Although, you put up with them because they let you drive their Flashy-Sports-Car whenever you want to! Out of frustration, about a month ago, I started checking-up with the news forums about any forthcoming Blackberry phone releases, but alas found nothing pending. By chance I read a survey listing all of the Blackberry OS10 Phones in order of best-buys.The Z10 came out tops! Taking a punt, I obtained a Z10 for £168, here on Amazon. I have only had it for a week, but am completely happy with its form and functionality. My previous Xperia experience had convinced me that a physical keyboard was not essential. The virtual keyboard on the Z10 is amazing. The message Hub is a brilliant idea. The Z10 is pretty much the same size as my previous Sony Z3 Compact, so can enjoy video full-screen rendering in a similar way, and still fit comfortably into my pocket and is easy to use one-handed. The battery life on the Z10 is no match for the SonyZ3 Compact, but is however replaceable. My spare Battery & Charger arrived today, so I have now overcome that disappointment. Very Cheaply! £9.99 The amount of APPS available on Blackberry is an often used as a criticism. Granted, it has less APPS available. However, their permission requests are exactly that, in my experience. With Android, I always feel that Permissions are "Demanded" and over-extensive, for that matter. ANDROID phones seem to need APPS, because they are pretending to be a computer. My BLACKBERRY seems to BE a Computer that is able to make phone calls. For my use, at least, I get-by perfectly well using BOOKMARKS in place of APPS. Perhaps this review is a little more about how I feel about the product, rather than reporting on how much it can "Bench Press", but Hey! I love this phone to bits. It makes me feel safe and not "overlooked". I feel like I`m standing-up for that Bullied-Kid at school, a little bit. Wow. I am really glad that I got to know this kid. If you like mainstream chart music, then go get yourself an Android/I-Phone. My favourite band; SLEAFORD MODS.... I own a Blackberry.... Now F*** OFF !!! ;-)

Awful
Right, for those who love to make a `research' into their phones, I feel really sorry for you. I guess I haven't done my research on Z10 as I expected the phone to work without making a research! Issues: when I open, for the first time the BlackBerry app store or what ever it's called (accurate on 18 June 2013) the first message I saw was: "Skype is coming soon to Blackberry" I was horrified! Apparently, different phones on the Blackberry OS have different apps, so, e.g., if there is the Skype app for Blackberry Bold, it doesn't mean that there is the same app for BlackBerry Z10. That wasn't the end, some `native' apps, e.g., Box was switching continuously between web browser and app itself to fill the gaps in software. The lack of apps is also very disappointing! If you compare iPhone's Facebook app to the one on Z10 you will be horrified, as I was! The interface of Z10's Facebook app is so basic, that reminds me of its first version on iPhone or Android, it is so limited! I am returning my phone, I have a life and I don't want to waste my time on `researching' how to make my phone work! Good things about BlackBerry - the phone interface looks good and more functional than iPhone, however, with new iOS 7 this autumn the advantages will be on the iOS side.

Great phone
I really like this phone. It's my first BlackBerry, I was fed up with Android, and this phone proved to be really good. I like the Operating System, and the fact you can install Android apps too, it's a double win. Pros: great camera quality, good size 4.2'' screen (ideal for me, I don't like the 5'' phones, I finds them uncomfortable), good choice of apps (BB apps have a small footprint too compared to Android apps). Easy to use, good keyboard, good browser... Cons: Data Services and Wifi have a 2-step to turn on and off, as opposed to Android system able switch on-off in 1 touch. Battery is poor (it does not last a day), compared to the Sony Xperia I had before, which had a much longer battery life. I don't know if i can purchase another battery, but this is quite annoying.

No issues with calls or internet pages ! And my mms pix come through on this blackberry but wouldn't on a samsung phone lol

Absolut fantastisch ist der BlackBerry Hub, ALLE Informationen auf EINEN Blick (SMS,eMail,Anrufe,...) !
