does this have japanese knotwood or make of grapes?

Supplement facts state it is 98% pure Trans-Resveratrol (Trans is the natural form Cis is synthetic. It does not state how they make this formula, from Japanese knotwood or grapes. It’s a slightly off white color. Next time I’m buying 99% Trans-Resveratrol which is pure white and the best formula from what I’ve read.

The second batch I purchased is light brown color! Is this normal?

Yes this is normal because it is 98% pure. The products that are 99% pure are white in color. The 98% pure product is still effective.

Why are customer reviews saying this does not have knotweed when the customer q&a (from customer service) clearly states they source it from knotweed?

Probably because people don't know how to actually do their own research and pay attention to details. Legally speaking, if it says "contains: this or that", and it doesn't contain "this or that", it is supposed to be this illegal, due to false advertising.
