Imagine a machine that makes ice, BUT..... the ice it makes is like perfectly compressed snow. That's this ice maker! Not every piece is the consistency mentioned, but most are amd I love eating ice. I use strictly bottled water. I imagine the ice it makes as if you had a snow cone machine, made the snow, and then pressed it into ice bullet shape. The basket is a little small, but if you're an ice eater, like myself, it's the perfect size. If there's more than just you, then it may not be able to keep up with the demand, but it is well worth the price you see. I will buy this one again and again, should it fail. The noise level from its function could be loud, depending on placement. Mine's on the counter in the kitchen, away from sleeping areas, right next to the living room/family room and isn't so loud that you can't tune it out nor loud enough to interrupt an afternoon nap on the couch. It's very easy to use, just pour water into the uptake reservoir underneath the basket and the machine does the rest. Couldn't be easier, unless you can rig a filtered water auto release, like a toilet reservoir, but refilling isn't an issue. You can easily put 2 avg water bottles worth, roughly 1 liter, possibly three, I honestly haven't tried more than 2 because 2 in it is plenty. It isn't garish on the counter. It looks perfectly normal to be there next to the microwave and the blender. It isn't too big nor too heavy to move around and find the perfect place. So far, I've run it pretty continuously since my purchase about 2-3 months ago, I run it day & night, and it works! Highly recommend if this kind of ice is your thing. If you're looking for glassy solid hard ice, then you'll want to keep looking. If the description I've provided appeals to you or is your "thing", then look no further. You'll be very happy with this ice maker. I am.

I bought this ice maker for my classroom and I absolutely love it. I use for my water bottle. Nice size makes quickly and not noisy. Great purchase!
