You'll want to put this on a soft surface (I cut a piece off a kitchen sponge) to quiet the vibration. This next part of my review is not from a professional, just from a guy who's had a desktop computer since 1981: this drive is replacing a major manufacturer's "gaming" external drive that began to fail after 27 months. The new one in not nearly as quick to respond. But I just spent over two days moving what data was recoverable to this new drive and I'm just tired of the whole mess. I won't do that again, in the foreseeable future, so I'm stuck with this one.

Please check my video to see it for yourself. I sent an email inquiry regarding the warranty information since I could not return it anymore. Company responded to me by requesting proof of purchase and troubleshooting, I did all of that and they have not responded to me and it’s been more than a week now. Save your money by not purchasing from Silicon Power

This drive worked fine for 15 months, but after my MacOS updated from Sonoma to Sequoia, the drive caused the computer to repeatedly and spontaneous reboot. After 2 trips to the Apples Store, wiped disk and Sequoia reinstall and a replaced logic board, it was still doing it - with all my images, music and Time Machine files on the disk an inaccessible. I was able to downgrade to Sonoma (not an easy task - the Apple tech said he's tried to do it himself 3 times without success). Then I could see the disk, restore from an old Time Machine backup and am back in business after being without the computer for 10 days, and wasting countless hours. The drive is garbage - bought a new Samsung SSD drive to use from now on.

I think this so far. No issues.
