Mostly great, QC problem on mine though
I've been wanting a pair of US made jungle boots for a long time now and just couldn't justify the cost. I finally broke down and ordered these, and for the most part, they're everything I hoped they would be. The quality of the leather is phenomenal. It's thick, high quality, supple and smooth. The fit is a little large, but that's perfect for what they are and to be expected. The only real problem I had was that the leather was abraided all the way around the sole. In places nearly an inch of leather was abraided and actually has slices in it. I suspect this is some problem that occurred during the vulcanization process. It only seems to be a problem on one boot, the other one isn't nearly as bad. I should have probably sent them back, but I'm sick of going without and it's an hour drive to the closest place that does Amazon returns, so I'll just deal with it. I've been wearing them for a week now and they're breaking in good and seem comfortable.

First review after 1 month
So far I've been very impressed with my boots and the only reason I didn't rate as five stars is because I've only had them for one month. They arrived on time and in great condition. I'm very glad I paid attention to the other reviews and ordered a size smaller then normal. My usual boot size is 9, but with these I decided to go with size 8 wides. After wearing insulated hunting boots and snake boots these feel almost like armored tennis shoes to me LOL. I'm taking too slow break in approach and after using saddle soap and a couple of applications of mink oil I began wearing them to walk the dog and around the house. Last weekend I went on a 3 mile hike with my dog in the woods and my feet were just a little tender at the end of it. A few more weeks of breaking in and a few more coats of mink oil and they should give me good service for years to come. I will update this in a few months if anything changes.

Solid kicks.
I followed the guideline and ordered one size below my usual 11, and the fit is perfect. Now that I’ve broken-in these boots over the course of a few days, they’re pretty comfy too. I’m surprised and feel quite lucky, because it’s usually very difficult for me to find boots that fit and feel right. The only reason I’m rating these boots a 4 out of 5 is because I have yet to see how well they hold up. When I was a welder, I exclusively wore slip-on aka “cowboy” style work boots, and every pair inevitably ended up stinking like an anaerobic swamp after years of wearing them year-round, typically 12+ hours at a time, and spending a significant amount of time outdoors in muggy heat (especially in the gulf coast). I’ve already noticed a difference in the temperature regulation of my feet wearing these boots. My feet don’t feel cool, per say, but I don’t notice/am not made uncomfortable by excess heat in my boots when doing physically demanding work outdoors in warm/hot weather. Rest assured I will return to write a second review after I’ve put these boots through their paces and have seen how well the material and construction hold up to abuse. Very happy with these boots so far, and I hope I stay this way!!

McCrae is the best combat boot I've found
They look and fit exactly like the Real Thing, from when I was in the Army, except they have a better sole than the slippery thing a GI boot has. It's hard to get 8 wide in any shoe, and I spent years looking for something that fit me as well as a standard combat boot does. I gave up years ago when I stumbled upon McCrae. If you want what you had in the military, you've found it. I only bought these to have a second pair; my last pair is on the order of four years old and they're still going strong, which is also what I expect from a boot and never got from any other company, and believe me I tried a number of them. If I could get more than year from a set of (more expensive) other boots I was lucky. So this boot looks right, it fits right, and it lasts right. McCrae. It's just right.

Comfortable and spacious.
They do not fit the same as the old black jungle boots from the 90s. They feel slightly bigger, but they fit great with heavy socks. No serious imperfections and no stitching coming loose after much use.

Absolutely Amazing
I had a pair of similar boots that I bought in 2017, but had worn them out. They were made in China. I found these and was very excited to see they're made in the USA! Far more sturdy, heavier and much better workmanship than my old ones. I had a size 6W, but ordered these in a 6.5W, happy I did, the neck of the boots are a bit tight. I wear a women's 8.5W and the 6.5W is perfect for me.

My son has told me several times how much he likes these boots!
My son says they are really comfortable and lace up easily. He usually wears around 11.5 wide, so we got 11 wide as we were told they run a little big. He says they fit him perfectly.
