Great story telling
Vrinda and her mother (the illustrator) are amazing at capturing the story telling with their words and art.If you know the Ramayana, then you will enjoy the extra details and insight on the characters' lives. If you never read it before, then you will have a wonderful first experience of this ancient text. If you are an art lover, especially of the traditional old fairy tale type of illustrations, you will enjoy this as well. If the writing was bad, which is not, I would have bought the book just for the illustrations.

Another masterpiece
This novel is another unique masterpiece by this author. However, the fine printing was an impediment to my truly enjoying this book.

Definitely a must read on our favorite epic!
Awesome read on my favorite epic since childhood. Grew up listening or watching this epic. This one is a masterpiece of story from Ram, Sita and Lakshman’s angle. What a pleasure to read. I’m a mom of two with full time job and I read both books in less than a month as I couldn’t put it down. I felt frangrance of this throughout the day during my read.

Spellbound and speechless on the grandeur of Ramayana retold. I began with the mesmerizing journey of the great prince of solar dynasty from the day of his divine birth to the day when he felt lifeless(at the end of book two). Especially the sita’s fire trilogy book one and book two made me feel like someone holding your hand and making you walk through out this journey in the shadows of that epic time. The altogether elaborate and extravagantly real perspectives of each character giving extra sensory meaning to every detail and events of happening, leaves you with the answers to the some of many questions from this epic. Every character comes live with their naturalness and understanding of each other, making it obvious to understand the complex nature of human behavior and it’s many perspectives. Magical, mythical, and extraordinary narrative progressing hand in hand with the story. The illustrations gave life to every detail of the story, making them more real. I had read many versions of Ramanyana and this is one of the most mesmerizing one.The queen of elements - Sita taking you through her journey of exile in the words of Vrinda sheth is a unexplainable feeling of humbleness, humility, femininity and power, all proportionately justified. The balance and equilibrium of human thoughts is unique aspect of the book.Eagerly waiting for the next book “Destroyer of sorrows”.

A magical story
Have you ever read a book and not wanted it to be over because you want to keep reading a truly magic story? That is how I feel about this book. Vrinda Sheth truly brings the Ramayana alive with her descriptions and character development. I read volume 1 and loved it and volume 2 is even better. I'm sad I have to wait another year for volume 3 to be printed. I would buy it today if it was available. I've read them both twice now. And the illustrations are incredibly beautiful too.

Kindle version not Kindle compatible.
Bought to read on Kindle. Cannot read on Kindle. Seriously? (The 3rd book in the series IS Kindle-compatible, so it's clearly possible.)
