These clippers work well and the kit is user friendly - buy this!
I have had this Wahl clipper kit for a couple of months, and simply stated, everything in the kit works extremely well. And the kit is very inexpensive. A great value for the home barber. The 120V clippers are hefty. They are solidly built, sharp and powerful enough for a thick beard. The battery powered clippers are much better than I would have ever bet before I owned them. They are serious, powerful clippers. It should be noted that the clipper guide combs only fit the 120V clippers. There are no guide combs for the battery clippers, but they are made for trimming, not hair cutting. Also, the 2 AA batteries go in a little weird, one has to be put all the way in the bottom of the battery compartment before the other one goes in off to the side but on top of the other battery. Both clippers work extremely well, but the consumer friendly details of the kit make this an exceptional value. This set is packaged in a re-useable, plastic, foam padded box with a plastic latch that REALLY IS big enough to hold all of the parts included in the kit. No more messing with a cheap, torn, (and flimsy) cardboard box. Also, the clipper oil is not not in a plastic bubble pouch, it is in a small, screw top squeeze bottle. You actually can use the oil more than once, it doesn't leak out all over the box during storage. You can actually lubricate the clippers more than once which should make them cut well for years. These are quality clippers and the kit is a great value. This Wahl clipper kit is made for the long haul; powerful, sharp clippers and a kit that was made for years of home use.

Great guard options
It works well and the guards are incredibly useful! It gets really hot after an extended period of usage though, so I'd be careful about that.

Great Price. Seems to be much higher quality then comparably Priced items.
Seems to be a quality item, appears to have been well constructed, for the price point. One really should not need to spend more for a Professional set of clippers, these appear to do the job. I had a set of Professional type Clippers, from Wahl... 3000 or something? They were a bit bulkier, had a height a adjustment, though other than that, these seem to be comparable? The motor seems strong enough to cut hair and these appear as if they would work well, for about any application use, provided it is not down at the hairline, where they adjustment feature would be needed. These are plastic, no metal.... They are not Professional series. These are much better built than the ones you typically purchase from Retail stores. I have purchased 3 Remington Clipper Sets, they lasted about a year each. Then I have owned some of the other Department store brands, Harbor Freight Brands, those lasted about a year or so and then they always fail.. These seem to be durable enough, to last a couple of years, at least. There not being that adjustment, might just prevent the failure of the clippers, because often, the bar that holds the blade to the motor, would get old and would loose elasticity, resulting in the clippers no longer working. That and the motors would fail.... These seem to be more likely to last, over the long run, than those other brands of clippers. The trimmer set, I had planned on using for body grooming.... I was not all that impressed with those... Ended up using my older set, I purchased on Ebay for $5.... They were narrow, and I was not pleased with the performance. However, they seem to be well constructed, just not optimal for what I had use for them.......4.5 stars.....For the money.....5stars.....

Works well.
Been cutting my husband’s hair for several years now and when I needed to buy a new clipper set, I chose this one based on a combination of the best ratings and lowest price. I have been very happy with it. It’s easy to use, comfortable in my hand, and works well. It’s important to oil these each time you use them, and then they typically last a long time and stay sharp. I recommend that you also get a good pair of barber scissors and a cape to go with this. I do not use the small beard trimmer that comes with it. I would prefer if they sold these products separately so that they could reduce the price a bit on the basic trimmer.I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases because I read reviews myself and appreciate how helpful they can be. I hope that my review helped you!

I was skeptical, but this is great!
With the shutdown in place, we are all trying to do something with our hairs. My wife tells me to hold on until our favorite salon reopens. But my hair was getting too long and I could no longer use my gel to shape my hair. And so I jumped in and bought my set (it was discounted!). I did have to wait like a month for it to arrive.I didn't cut my hair right away because i was a little afraid. What if I mess up? What if the plastic guards fall off (like the many stories you hear)? I watch a YouTube video and decided to take the leap. (btw my wife refused to help me because she was certain it would turn out ugly and she didn't want to be blamed). And so I stood in front of my bathroom sink and went at it.After a minute of shock (seeing clumps of hair falling onto the sink), I got used to the movement of my hand along the back and sides, around the ear. And before long -- I have to say about 5 minutes, I was done. It took another 5 to clean the sink and throw away the hair. When I showed my new haircut to my wife, her first words were, "Wow, you don't have to spend money on the salon anymore!" First time doing it ever!I do have to say that I couldn't touch the top and front where scissors would be needed. After two weeks, I used it again to touch up.People are pleasantly surprised by my cut and shocked that I did it all by myself.Excellent buy!
