Fantastic book, but a little heavy
This is a great book with lots of maps and (beautiful) pictures. This will be great for planning and reminiscing, but I don't think I want to bring this out with me. Considering the one it replaced had water damage from an April snowstorm. I certainly do not regret the purchase!

The definitive Devils Lake guidebook
Wonderful guidebook! The pictures are so crisp and the lines are well documented. Excellent organization and bluff overviews. This IS the new standard. I had used the old blue and white text only guidebook for 25yrs and this one is far superior.

This is THE guidebook for Devil's Lake
This guidebook is extremely well done. The graphics and photos are high quality. The content is organized well and easy to understand. This is THE guidebook I would recommend for Devil's Lake and it also has beta for Necedah and Hillbilly Hollow which are two great climbing destinations in WI.

Great Book, but Missing Areas
I picked this guide book up over the other, more popular one due to the color pages and clear route definitions. For the ones that are in the book, the guide is fantastic, but there are a number of areas that are left out. I was planning on taking my kids to the Stettner Rocks area and was hoping for some more approach and route beta, but Stettner barley got a few sentences of mention. From what I hear, this is a common spot to bring beginner climbers, so it was disappointing not to see anything but a mention about it; guess I'll stick to Mountain Project for this trip.I like that they included some of the other climbing areas in Wisconsin. Petenwell Bluff in Necedah is one of my favorite crags and they've included a lot of information about the area.

and this one is by far the superior book. Full color pictures & accurate
I have two Devil's Lake climbing guides, and this one is by far the superior book. Full color pictures & accurate, up-to-date routes. I would recommend this to anyone interested in climbing in WI.

This book retails for $35, don't get price gouged
Excellent book that combines the much needed route info alongside information, history, and culture of the Lake. They sell it at my gym for $35. So don't get price gouged.

The Bible of Devil’s Lake Climbing
A must for the Wisconsin climber. Only quibblers would give it anything less than 5 stars. Trad-heavy emphasis, which does not weaken its appeal for the non-trad climber, but zero elitism toward the top roper nor toward the easier routes. Apparently, based on price here, it must be out of print? Not true, as of 2022. Wolverine Publishing apparently is the only retailer on earth without an Amazon presence.

Amazing Guidebook!
Finally an excellent and modern climber's guidebook for Devils Lake. Fantastic photography, interesting essays by some of the Devils Lake giants, and witty author commentary are just a few of the reasons to buy this book.
