A handy little device.
It's not the flashiest thing out there however it does the job needed and comes in really handy for what i use it for. I find the appearance to be tad plasticky but the inner workings are great as i have not found an issue with the record quality. It weighs about the same as my mobile phone and doesn't take mush room in my bag so i am happy with it.

It was bought as a Christmas present for my grandson and he is absolutely thrilled with it.I don't know if he's put it to use yet but it will play a major role in his college work

Looks Promising, unfortunately lots of menu items didn't work as they were bad or incorrect
THis recorder comes in a pouch with USB cables, manual and the recorder itself, there is no SD-card capability but rather relies on its internal memory. So far all sounds good however, when I was growing the menus I noticed something that I could not believe really eye-catching made me wonder is this true?!... well, notice on one of my pictures taken of the menu that the Sampling Rate for WAV recording was 512KBps, 1536KBps, and 3072KBps... whilst the "standard" is 44.1KHz (CD quality) or the enhanced one is 48Khz, and finally the most advanced one for pro-audio is 96KHz, this device had rates that are over a 100 times the standard pro-rate... I simply could not believe it, so I did my test and decided to look into the file on my Mac and PC... I chose to record at 3072KBps, and then moved it to my Mac, looked on info and can clearly see that the sampling rate recorded was 96KHz instead... I tested the rest of them, and all came back at 96KHz, (see photos), then decided to check the contents of the recording and can confirm that the sampling (recording) made by this unit is not really 96Khz but rather 24KHz instead, this was confirmed by the jumps on the audio samples captured on my green screen, Kind'a like someone saying (HD Video Resolution) but then it appears to be a small image blown up to look HD when actually it's totally pixilated instead, same thing. The recording menu was sluggish, when in recording mode the screen was hardly catching up to the recording and was updating about 300ms later which does not help, yes it's displaying bars but it was way too slow for a "pro" recorder.Unfortunately, this device did not live up to its name or what it's promising to do, I also don't see how a "pro" recorder would have irrelevant options on the menu like music or other unrelated stuff.

Does the job
This Dictaphone feels a lot like a basic model, however for the price i was expecting a bit more finesse. Currently it is priced at just under £30, however the original price is £40. The sound quality, recording and playback, is reasonable. It's easy enough to navigate the features and the screen is a nice touch. Transfer to my work laptop is also straight forward, however it is not wireless. I ordered this to use for work purposes. It fits the bill

Works as expected, but is really questionably constructed
This product has a lot of bells and whistles, but for me the main use is simple dictation and meeting recording, so I'm reviewing it based on the basics.First up - the product itself. It kind of looks and feels like one of those cheap/low-quality middle aisle supermarket products... the plastic is the brittle kind, and the unit feels light and flimsy.Considering how technology has progressed, this also seems to be huge! The product is bigger than a standard TV remote and is nowhere near being discrete. It feels like I've gone back to the 90s, when I used tape cassette based dictaphones - the form factor is not far off! I'd expect a more discrete, smaller product considering it's all solid state. On to performance: Yes, it does what I need it to do. But personally, I find the following to be really fundamental things I'd expect in a dictaphone in 2024:* Wireless data transfer: This device only supports USB cables to transfer the recordings* Speech to text output: My phone can do this, surely a dictaphone -should-? (Even it it was via an online service?)* Sound quality/ noise cancellation: Although the machine purports to have noise cancellation, it's pretty rudimentary and almost seems to be EQ based. Again, my phone does a better job of background noise removal than this dedicated device. And this brings me onto value... at the time of review this device was just under £50. Yes, it records conversations/ notes, but is it any better than the tools built into my smartphone? For me, the answer is: No. I had such high hopes for this device, but it sadly lacks the fundamentals that I'd expect, which my smartphone has:* Small form factor* AI/ intelligent noise cancellation* Easy notes transfer to other devices wirelessly* Easy notes organisation* Speech-to-text outputSo, as the product does what it sets out to do, I've rated 3 stars, but dropped 2 stars as for the cost, it is not really a technological breakthrough considering how much further forward non-dedicated competing tech is.

Serves me well for its primary use as a voice recorder and transfer of recordings
The media could not be loaded. Yes, our smartphones can voice record too, but there is a convenience to having a dedicated recorder with tactile buttons. This recorder absolutely serves me well with good quality recordings and loud playback for my project notes dictation. The device has ample 64gb storage and as shown in my video, file transfers is a simple process. There is no Bluetooth connectivity, transfers have to be done via USB connection. But that is not a problem for me.The device can also be used as a music player but honestly, I can't imagine any scenario where I would want to listen to music on this!Happy with this, no complaints.
