WOW! Excellent Rug at an Unbeatable Price
Oh, I have for years wanted Waterhog rugs in the house, the cost always stopped me, not anymore! We live on a large farm with various breeds of barnyard animals, livestock, plus we many aces of crop plants. I finally got fed up with the daily battle of grass, dirt, mud, and other (no need to mention) nasty's entering my home. Since the others I live with have "selective" hearing, and poorly cooperated with wiping their feet and/or removing their boots. I finally surrendered, marched to the computer and ordered three Waterhogs! I could have saved myself years of hard work by ordering these rugs sooner! Waterhog rugs are very well made: the entire top of the rug has a waffle pattern to it. Each rug is tightly woven with stitching that is tightly sewn and secure, it even has double reinforced stitching all around. The top of the rug is a dirt, mud, grim, etc., catcher. It holds a lot of water, which will not seep onto the surrounding floors nor to the bottom of the rug. To clean the rug you can: broom sweep it, shake it out, vacuum it and I would assume hose it off if need be. I have not even had to vacuum any of these rug once, I either shake them out or broom sweep them. Another thing I love about the Waterhogs is, pet hair does not "stick" to the rug. If a pet leaves hair on the rug it comes off very easily, with a good shake or a broom. The bottom is made of rubber, with little spikes that anchor the rug securely and safely in place. If dirt becomes trapped under the rug, you can, broom sweep it, shake it off, or worse case scenario wipe it off with a damp cloth. All three of the Waterhogs were true to size, I received the exact sizes I ordered. I even measured each rug, by length and width and all three were the exact size's I ordered. If you order the Waterhogs from the Industrial dept. on Amazon, you will pay LESS than if you order from the Home & Kitchen dept., and there is no difference in the rugs except for the cost! Also the EXACT same Waterhog rugs are available through LL Bean, I saved $35.00ea on two of the rugs, and $40.00 on the third rug by ordering from Amazon! Enjoy.

This is a wonder rug for entry! This is my second purchase of this rug and my first rug is 25 years old and looks brand new! I can’t wear them down. -great investment!

These babies WORK! I live in subtropics and water ain't coming on my laminates!
I adore these mats. I had two different types of mats before, and there was still grit underfoot on my laminate flooring. I was Swiffering like 2x to 3x a day and we don't have dogs or kids. Just us tracking stuff in. I got three mats. One for outside front door, one for inside front door, one for entrance from garage to house. I could not believe how much less i have to sweep and mop. Like, I could go three days without Swiffering before I feel some grittiness under my bare feet. And even in summer--I'm in MIami, where it rains just about EVERY day in late spring and during summer and early fall and storms with regularity in deep hurricane season--and no water on my laminate flooring. I was balking at the price at first...but the results make me go, "OH, yeah, you pay for stuff that works. " :) I plan to get one more for the back entrance (we never use it, as it's not a proper back yard and it's not worth going in and out from there), but I'd rather have it there than track stuff in if we ever use the back. I took the monitor with me to the front door and spent some times figuring which colors matched the outdoor tiles (grey one) and indoor decor with light laminates and golden walls (yellow one) and hallway from garage with red walls (red/black one). The red/black will also go with the back door, yet to buy, as it matches my family room red rug (ie, a cooler red, not orange-red). Very good product. Hope it lasts a long time.

Great (attractive) front door/mudroom rug!
Overall opinion: Really great rug in terms of attractiveness and functionality. The backing does not shift on either hardwood or tile (we have slippery slate tile)--no additional rug pad needed! Excellent for getting off mud/dust/sand/stuff from doggy paws. Looks great. Colors: In total, we ordered 3 rugs (two 8x4; one 4x3) in yellow, the turquoise blue, and medium gray. The yellow, in my opinion, is not a particularly great or "happy" shade of yellow. It's more a mustard color--if you like that and it fits with your decor, great! Didn't work for us, return was easy. The turquoise is a very pretty color, I highly recommend. It's a rich color, and brightens up the hall nicely. Just ordered medium gray (which lots of people posted pictures of). Cleaning: Regular vacuuming works great, and for "soiled spots" (such as wet mud...or, um, other brown stuff that sometimes dogs track in), I recommend regular baby wipes. Clean up perfectly, and do not discolor the rug! I also used GreenWorks compostable wipes and there was no color discoloration. Hope this review helps!

Awesome but ....
This mat is absolutely perfect for our mudroom. It doesn't slide around, it traps dirt and moisture from outside beautifully. And better yet, it vacuums up great -- not all mats do that. The cats scratch it up and you can't tell -- it occupies them enough to leave other stuff alone. The big price tag was totally worth it. I eould have given it 5 stars but it has a weird zigzag pattern down the middle of it. Its probably a manufacturing error -- kind of a drag since I paid so much. I'll keep it. It does its job even if it looks funny.

Very very good, but....
The one I want at the moment has to color match with a previous purchase and is out-of-stock. Ok, I'll wait and hope it matches when it arrives; the two will be side by side, edge to edge, in the family room. Neither one of them will be a full 4' by 6' !!! You can read the product description: dimensions are noted for thickness in thousands of an inch (3 decimal places), but the width and lengths are off by at least a full inch.... for truth in commentary I just measured the 4 foot side at just under 44-1/2 inch. I have no carpet, just a house full of mats, and puppies of all ages. The mats are scattered in places where the dogs eat, need traction to jump up/down or turn corners at high speed, or where they like to nap when sometimes damp and somewhat dirty. I have one on my grooming table. The exact dimension thing won't cause me any real problems now that I am aware of it. Keep it in mind especially if you are buying one of these for the raised water retaining edge. If you have to trim one for some reason you will loose that feature. My first 2 waterhog mats are over 7 years old and still in great condition. They were rather expensive so I bought others from Sam's for much less, they seemed a reasonable substitute. Ah-ha, Sam changed his specifications and I didn't catch on right away as I continued to buy one now and then. The early edition mats from Sam are still holding up..... but the 2nd edition (only ones available for the last 4 or 5 years in the two states I've lived in) just don't last, and as they begin to fray it is more and more difficult to clean them. Besides regular vacuuming I wash all my mats in batches 2 or 3 times a year with a pressure washer after clamping one edge to the top of the fence (soap, lite scrub, rinse, dry in place, vacuum on the garage floor for as much fur as I can get) - and I have a few spare mats to get me through the winter when it's too cold to wash them . Note: 4'x6' is the biggest size that I can work with and hang-up easily. A pressure washer can easily cause damage, don't get the nozzle too close to the mat. But even being very careful - very very careful - none of the other mats maintain their look and finish like the waterhogs. I give the "280" mat 5 stars because I have searched in this price range and after 10 years believe they are the best. For me, size doesn't matter so much. I wish I could afford some of the "premium" models. ,

Gorgeous, attention- and dirt-grabbing mats!
I love these Andersen WaterHog mats! I am now the proud owner of three of them (all in the beautiful orange shade). This one resides on my front porch for everyone coming to my door to see. The color is stunning ~ compliment-earning, even! And since when does anyone receive compliments about their door mats? Well, these beg for compliments. I love how they're available in so many sizes. Definitely worth the extra money you'll pay for these compared to the junk you can pick up at your local big box store. That they come in all these fashionable colors, too. . . . I've got the ones with the carpet-gripping nibs on the back, and they do not slide around much on my wooden patio. They're extremely easy to shake out and brush off. They really add nice color to my porch (which is in grave need of a new paint job). Amazing that I can put off that paint for a while longer, just buy adding a couple of eye-catching mats to deflect attention from the peeling paint. Love, love, love them! They're also very comfortable under bare feet, and house pets enjoy laying on them, too. Great quality and hold up well to rain, harsh desert sun, and heat.

Efficient & classy.
I bought these because my research said they would do the best job of keeping people's shoe dirt off my floors. I was pleased when my son, with classy, city taste, thought they looked great. Much better at cleaning shoes than the rugs I found in stores. I love the size choices & color choices. I requested samples to make sure I liked the color, since I wanted a true gray, not bluish & especially not greenish. I bought some for inside & some for outside. Big investment, but is so visible, that it's worth it, since they are keeping my floors much cleaner. Also, they are easy to clean. So far I've only needed a stick vac to keep them clean, but I don't have a lot of muddy traffic. They are a few inches smaller than described. The 3 x 4 worked great at most doorways, but I ended up getting this 3 x 5 for inside the entry since I wanted it centered with the door, but still have enough rug to the side of the door so people wouldn't step off of it in order for the door to close.
