A good story in this series
The second book in the Hereafter series. The story was full of mystery with new friends and foes. Amelia is put in a position where she has to choose to help the demons take souls or risk loosing the people she loves.Trying to find a way to stay with Joshua and avoid the demons is a challenge. When Joshua has a suprise gift for Amelia to visit Gaby a voodoo priestest, Amelia's life is turned on it's head once again. The book was easy to read and flowed flawlessly. I personally felt the story could have a tad more passion to the story.I also sometimes i feel like shouting at Amelia! As when she thinks she can't touch something, i feel like saying to her 'Well try and touch it' instead of asuming she can't, like at the end of this book. There are also a few questions that i hope will be answered in the next book, like:Where did Melissa go in the first book when she left Eli?Who is the guardian in this book? Why does she fire up when Demons approach? Why can she only touch Joshua? Why does Amelia think her Dad is in the netherworld and not in a good place? - leading back to where Melissa went to after she found good places, as there is no proof the Dad went to the nether world as both Eli and the Demons questioned Amelia's theory, unless i have got this muddled in my reading!Amelia is a likeable character, though her lack of self confidence and her asumptions can be a little...... pratronising??? infuriating??? frustrating??? though as we are still learning about her afterlife, i can over look this. There is a third book in this series 'Elegy' that at present, Amazon have a release date of July 2013 that looks good and hope to learn some of mysteries still to be resolved.A book for teens and Adults alike.

A FANTASTIC BOOK AND A MUST READ!
Review 7*******WOW! This story sure doesn't disappoint! I LOVED IT!Amelia is a fantastic character. She is an 18 year old ghost, who has had to face demons and a Seer who wants to see her banished. She is a warm and loving person, who can only be seen by her boyfriend, Joshua.Joshua Mayhew is also a fantastic character. Coming from a family of Seers, he is able to see ghosts. Because he loves Amelia very much, they both decide on a course of action that will change their lives forever. This is the second book in the Hereafter series by Tara Hudson. I had enjoyed the first book so much, I pre-ordered this book in anticipation of a fantastic sequel. My anticipation was amply rewarded, because I think this book is as good, if not better, than Hereafter. The romance between Amelia and Joshua is very sweet. However, there is still danger from the demons in the netherworld, who have set their eyes on capturing Amelia. The tension and danger seems to ooze off the pages as I was transported to New Orleans, the home of the Mayhew clan. We also get introduced to some new characters; some nice, but some decidedly creepy!Tara Hudson has written another fabulous YA paranormal romance that had me held in thrall, and glued to the pages!I highly recommend this book if you love YA, or if you are looking for a fantastic paranormal romance that will sweep you off your feet! If you haven't read Hereafter, I sincerely hope that you will do so, and soon, because this is a fantastic series!

A great second book.
Arise is a briliant second book. At first I thought this story would be boring compared to the first as I was not sure how the plot could move on. But I was wrong! The plot in Arise is much more captivating and interesting than then first. It is brilliant. I was left wanting more when I read the very last page.In Arise Joshua and Amelia's relationship is tested and they are faced with new commplications. Joshua's christmas present leaves Amelia with more complications and they are brought to new levels. Will their relationship last? Will they be able to be together even though Amelia has changed? Read this book and find out!I recommend you buy this book if you are interested in Ghosts, romance and reading a great story!

Good
It was not good as the first one. I find the second book annoying and boring. It took me forever to read. However, i will still read the last one.

It keeps getting better!
Hereafter was one of my favourite reads of 2011, so I was super excited to finally get started on Arise, and I have to say author Tara Hudson has done a great job with this...
