Cutting out fabric for garment sewing is my least favorite part of the sewing process, but these scissors make things a lot more enjoyable. I have small hands, but I have no problem using these scissors. I looked up the proper way to use them, and I put my index finger outside the big loop, and guide the scissors along the cutting surface with the lower blade. This is how tailor's use these massive shears (according to a tailoring website I found), and this method works very well for my purposes. I bought these to replace a 8" pair of a different popular brand, and these are more comfortable and way easier to use. My old shears were over ten years old (I also bought them from Amazon, so I checked the purchase date), but they were never this smooth or comfortable to use. They are also super sharp, so hopefully I won't have to get them sharpened or replace them for a number of years. With these scissors, I can cut out a 1/4 circle skirt in fabric in less than a minute, and the process is easy, comfortable and enjoyable.

As a lifelong Gingher gal, and a professional historical costumer, I really thought I couldn’t be convinced to use anything else. My Kai shears (9”) changed all that. I have now the pinking shears and the 12” and I wouldn’t care if my husband used my old Ginghers for cutting wrapping paper (my sewists will appreciate how serious I am!). These shears are insanely sharp and they hold the edge…I don’t know how long because it’s been three years and 1000 yards for the first pair, and they are still viciously sharp. Don’t hesitate, but these. You won’t regret them.

If you don't own KAI Professional Shears, you are missing out. The handle is the most comfortable, out of any high end shear I have tried. They cut like butter, and as long as you're not using them to cut paper, then switching back to fabric, they stay sharp forever! Totally worth the price point, when you factor in not having to take them in to get sharpened, or replacing them, like you have to do with the lower end shears on the market.

I don’t write many reviews, but I had to for these shears. My job entails manufacturing commercial roofing parts, and I work with TPO & PVC (single ply plastic-like membranes) that comes in large rolls. That being said, I do a LOT of cutting, and the cuts must be precise. I’ve used SEVERAL different brands/types of shears, but NOTHING touches these Kai ones. They cut like BUTTER and last a long time. I currently have 4 pair in my shop for different tasks. These USED to cost like $80-$100, so it’s an absolute STEAL to get these for around $50 in my opinion. As a side note… they sharpen very well and you can extend the life of them even further if you take them to a sharpening shop once in a great while.

very high quality scissors i have a smaller pair i use for quilting fabric. i have had them for over ten years and there're still as good as the day i bought them i bought the bigger size to use on thicker fabric, such as denim

Es la mejor tijera con la que he trabajado desde que coso. Comprè dos, una para el atelier y una para mi uso personal y asi acabar con la antigua que pesa exactamente el doble (600gr contra los 300 de esta maravilla). Es un alivio para mi que estoy en esto todo el dia, corta perfectamente sea cual sea la tela, desde la seda mas fina hasta algo grueso y espeso. Y lo mejor es que no causa cansancio a la mano. El precio tambien muy bueno por tanta calidad.
