A quick read through of this book and it has more than lived up to expectations, one of Haynes best in my opinion, lots of detail and will provide an excellent dip-into book whilst reading other books on the subject, eg Haynes Dambusters etc . Very Good!

The book arrived very quickly and in excellent condition.As an ex RAF member I know I shall enjoy reading this book, as would my late father who served in Bomber Command as a bomb aimer on Lancasters. I have only dipped into it so far but found many of the entries so poignant and can only imagine what it was really like for those who flew on missions. My father was demobbed after the war but re-joined two years later and eventually became aircrew again, this time as an Air Quartermaster, now called Loadmasters. As a recognition of his wartime service he was allowed to wear his Bomb Aimer brevet (B) as opposed to AQM/LM, such was the respect held by the authorities for those who served.

Loved the format and the way the story is built up and unfolded. Really fine effort to write up in this format and be thorough and informative allowing also for photos. My copy has the narrative on page 155 naturally leading into that on page 158; but it is divided by a stand alone piece on the fate of a Wellington on pages 156 and 157- printing format error? Slightly irked by this; hence 3 not 4 *.

First class book. A Tribute to those who served and died in bomber command. Recommended with doubt. Excellent.

Wasnt expecting much from this title, but actually a good read, and quite comprehensive. Could do with a bit more on the ground crews and staff.

Bought as a stocking filler for my aircraft & WW2 enthusiast hubby. He was well satisfied with its content & depth of detail so everyone's happy! Perfect present for those with similar interest I'd say 👍
