Preston Barbless 15 Hair Rigs With Bait Bands Size 14

I have plenty of Preston rods and other stuff. Thought I would try these bait band rigs.The hooks are great, bait bands..? Appalling. 8mm pellets work once, the. The bait band snaps.Worst Preston product ever

i use these all the time fishing for Barbel and Chub on the Kennet. These are great for the 2 smallest sizes of pellet - 8mm and 12mm. I don't tend to pull the bait band through the middle just wrap the band around the barrel and they stay on fine. I find the hooks are very sharp and so fish often hook themselves easily. I like the fact they are barbless too. Once the fish is in the net, usually at night, the hook is very quickly removed. Only ever have a couple snap on me when I've had to apply a bit of pressure. I use 10lb main and size 14 to 7lb bottom. If you are in a snaggy river maybe go up to 12lb main and use the larger pellet on a size 10 tied to 10lb. You get 8 to a pack so these represent cracking value for money.
