Selmer Paris Concept Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece

The mouthpiece was long even for a tenor mouthpiece and required pushing a long way onto the neck of my Tenor sax in order to tune it. Almost as far as it could go and about 20mm further than any of my other mouthpieces. Also, the bore was smaller than other mouthpieces and was very tight even when lubricated with large amounts of cork grease, it took a lot of strength to remove it or adjust. I did not want to sand the cork as my other mouthpieces would then be too slack.The Paris concept was ok and sounded ok but not good enough to override the problems of the poor fit. So I returned it.

I bought one as an upgrade to my tenor, hoping that it would just be the same concept i had seen others using.HOWEVER it was not so, the facing was roughly machined and the rails were not smooth or symmetrical, meaning the reed would not seal AT ALL. Plus, intonation problems and sound issues made it unplayable.I suspect it to be a copy / b.stockI highly recommend buying a definitely genuine one from a more reputable seller for woodwind accessories - like Dawkes or sax.co.uk
