HUAENG Battery for Gameboy Advance SP(GBA SP), Li-Ion Replacement Battery with High Capacity for AGS-001, AGS-003, AGS-101 Tools Included

I decided to test the battery life of this battery, which I’ll explain below. First of all, this battery fits nicely into a GBA SP. This is important because 3rd party batteries I’ve had in the past have been too big for the GBA SP, to the point that squeezing them in cracks the shell. There is no such issue with this battery, which is great. To test the battery life, I used a standard GBA SP AGS-001. This is the model with the front light (not the brighter backlight), and is likely the model most people would have. I used a genuine cartridge (Kuru Kuru Kururin), and let the title screen and intro video loop endlessly. The volume was set at half volume. By doing this test, it took about 8.5 hours before the red light came on. It then continued to chug along until it finally died after being on for 12 hours. I am very impressed with this. Some caveats: when actually playing a game, and not just letting an intro sequence loop, more battery will be used. The volume would normally be louder when playing (I had to have it on in the background when working so couldn’t have it too loud), so again this would drain the battery more. If you use an Everdrive or similar cartridge, these draw more power than a standard original cartridge. And if you use the AGS-101 model, with the brighter backlight screen, or you have a modded system with a backlit IPS screen, these would draw more power too. So in real world usage, you should expect less than the 12 hours I managed to get from my test, but I still think this points to it having very good battery life for a 3rd party replacement battery - I am very impressed and very happy with my purchase. I hope you find this useful, if you’re looking to replace the battery for your GBA SP I highly recommend this one.

I already knew that 1600mAh is impossible with this battery's size. It's simply not possible currently to pack so much energy with this battery's size. But the question was, how good is it actually? I did multiple tests with a GBA SP that has a IPS v5 mod on full brightness and using a EZ-Flash Omega DE card. I ignored the first full charge-discharge cycle. I will compare it to an original SP battery, I have 2 but they had around same result so I will include 1 for the results. I also checked the mAh going through the cable when charging after a complete discharge. There will always be some loses because of the cable + getting the energy into the battery, so the actual capacity will be bit lower. HUAENG (this one) battery: Red light: 2 hours 15 min Turned off: 3 hours 22 min Charging mAh: 803mAh Original SP battery: Red light: 1 hour 26 min Turned off: 2 hours 50 min Charging mAh: 607mAh It did beat the old original battery and I would say, it's one of the better batteries sold on Amazon. Only issue I have is the false information about the capacity. I get it, they all do it, but I think you can better be honest and sell it as a 800mAh battery. This is also the reason why I gave it 4 stars, cause the capacity is half what they advertise it has. Would I advice it if you really want to buy a battery from Amazon? Then yes.
