Impresive quality and customer service
I bought these poles for a recent hiking trip to the Dragoon and Chiricahua Mts in Arizona. They seemed like a great set of poles for the price, and met my three criteria: aircraft-grade aluminum, z-fold (to fit easily into luggage), and cork handles. I really expected to like these poles. But when I tried to use them, I found that the coated cable in one of the poles was disconnected, meaning that the pole was difficult to collapse, and made an annoying clicking sound (because it didn’t lock securely together) on each step. OK, Ryno Tuff includes a card that says the poles come with a lifetime warrantee, and these were clearly defective.ADDENDUM:I went online through Amazon to return my defective poles. They shipped out a new pair before I even had time to send my set back! I also got a nice reply from Ryno Tuff customer service in response to my 2-star review, which I certainly appreciated. My new poles arrived today, and I was surprised to see they’re of carbon fiber, which I believe is a bit more expensive than the aluminum poles.Though I specifically wanted aircraft aluminum poles, I’ll keep these, register them for the lifetime warranty, and see how they hold up. The bottom section, with the carbide tip, is aluminum, which seems important since it's nearly impossible not to bang that section on rocks along the trail. These poles certainly seem to be well made of quality materials. My original set were well made, too, the internal cable on one just came loose, or was never attached—not a problem in materials. I’ll be interested to see how the carbon poles hold up. I’m no longer an iron man hiker, but I do trek rocky trails, where the poles hit rocks and get in between rocks pretty regularly. For now, these seem to be high-quality poles from a company that stands behind them and offers excellent customer service.

Ryno Tuff? More like Ryno Wimp
I've put on less than 100 miles on these poles, and the upper segment came off on both poles. The upper segments are weakly held together by some kind of glue that is clearly not strong enough to do the job. And the lower segments also lost their tension. These are easily the worst poles I've ever owned. Sure, you get what you pay for, but I've owned many poles before, and many were cheaper and better than these. I've never had poles come apart before the tips wore off. These poles may be suitable for those who only hike occasionally. But if you are a thru-hiker or an avid hiker, avoid these at all cost. These pieces of crap broke on me mid thru-hike, and I had to walk 70 miles before I could replace them,

Amazing Product!!! Totebag may be 1in too short. 🙄
I have never used walkingsticks before. I feel a little awkward trying them out in the house 😅 but I love the orange and black they look so stylish. Even better, the feel nice. The handles feel so comfortable and I am very surprised with the soft material of the wrist straps. Assembly was simple. Only issue I've had was the tote bag is 1in too short. It's a hassle trying to get the poles back in the bag and the ends just don't fit if you keep the attachments in there as well. 😒Typical man made product🙄 1in too short.😄

Great poles, poor accessories
tl;dr: Great poles, crummy attachments. Rubber tips completely wore through after about 10 miles. Buy rubber tips from REI.I ordered these poles to take on an overseas backpacking trip because they fold smaller than most other poles on the market and would fit in my suitcase. They are easy to put together and are strong enough to hold my body weight (170 lbs) without collapsing. I was glad I had them on the hiking trip. The cork handles get pretty nasty after a couple of trips, but they are comfortable and wick sweat away. However, both rubber tips included in the package completely wore through after about 10 miles of walking. My hiking partner's rubber tips, which were purchased from REI and were new, lasted much longer and didn't show hardly any wear. If you are serious about using these poles for hiking distances over 10 miles, I would strongly recommend buying some rubber tips from another source.

Didn’t get the boots
The poles are great. Easy directions on Amazon to follow (they don’t come with instructions) but mine did not come with the boots. As I use poles to hike on pavement, I kind of needed those. Now I have to buy a separate set. I would have given these a 5 if I had gotten the boots. As it is, I’m not very happy.

I think I got a great deal on these poles
Seem exceptionally well designed and constructed and are lightweight compared to some ski poles had been using. I think I got a great deal on these poles. The instructions posted by the seller in this ad were helpful in first time use. I can see why without the instructions it could be challenging, but the poles are actually very easy to use and adjust from then on. I have only taken a couple of gentle hikes with them so far but I expect them to be durable. (I will update if that is not the case.)I love the feel of the cork handles. The black foam grips below those are a nice feature, too. I think I'll cover those with a white adhesive wrap before I go on a real hike in warm weather, though. The only downside for me was that the large rubber boots are extremely stinky as so many imported rubber items are due to some countries not having the safety standards in manufacturing that the U.S. currently has. If I had paid more for the poles I would have taken a star off for that. If I had to use that particular accessory, (which I don't plan on using since it is for pavement use), I may have actually returned the poles since from past experience, items like that can take months and months to outgas. The rubber tips that come installed on the poles when you receive them are great, however, as are all the other accessories. All in all a fabulous deal for an essential item for me to use to enjoy a healthful activity.

Love the poles until they broke.
The poles were great until the cable became detached at the start of a hike. They state they have a lifetime warranty, but they don't answer the emails to customer service nor answer the phone.
