Very solid and extremely well made. Very thick and heavy base plate. The covered alligators make it easy to hold SMD transistors to test out of circuit.I had bought a 72” adjustable height work bench and moved all equipment off the old bench. When I did this the plate slipped off a box and knocked off a rubber foot.I emailed quad hands wanting to know a price so I could buy new rubber feet. They replied asking for my address and sent the feet in 2 DAYS for FREE and sent me a FREE lighted gooseneck magnifying glass!!Absolutely best customer service ever! I will definitely be purchasing more of their products!

My use is for low volume production of PCBA and cable assemblies. Base is heavy and stable. Magnets are pretty strong, you can lift the base and they hold. The different arm lengths are very useful, and the clamps are strong. I tried the little hands from Radio Shack with the magnifying glass years ago, and I hated it. So once I purchased the Quad Hands, it took me a couple of days to utilize it since I didn't use "hands" when soldering for several years. Way better experience with this product, and it has helped speed up all of my assemblies. Worth every penny.

Works great, magnetic arms held securely to base. Can actually pick up base with them. The moveable magnetic arms can be in any location on base is a huge advantage for positioning work. Works great for small boards and large board work. Unit comes with several arms. Arms allow work item to held in any position and locked in place. When every think locked down your work piece won't move on base. I have the 11×17 base is very heavy with rubber feet doesn't move around on table. Easy to clean solder and rosin off the base with alcohol without marking up the surface. Best third hand tool I ever used or ever found. Well worth the money wish I had this for last 30 yrs. It makes working on electronic boards and items so much easier and speeds up process. Third hand tool would be great for modelers also.

Wow! This thing is heavy, solid, and works great. I have added a light to the original set of hands (same company sells the magnifier light as the bench). Being able to move the hands into where I need them, and bend them without the entire contraption falling over is a heaven-sent gift. The magnets attaching the arms are very strong - they hold up small objects with ease.I am SO TIRED of the cheaper "helping hands" that seemed determined to fail in every way possible. I literally threw out several cheaper sets that just didn't work.NO ONE who works with small pieces that need soldering or gluing should be without one of these. Period.Putting the inventor up for a Noble-Peace-of-Mind prize!

This will blow away those little clamps. I doubt that most people will need six clamps, as four will probably do. The magnets are strong and should hold the clamps in place well for most projects. For those soldering jobs and other crafts jobs, too, such as detail painting, this should act as that third and fourth hand that you need.

I bought this because it's a small American company with a strong sense of quality and usefulness. And boy and I glad I took the chance and didn't get a cheap Chinese knock-off for less. This thing is wonderfully useful, build to last and the base weighs a ton and creates a really stable workstation. I use it for gluing and soldering but actually bought it for macro photography and it's the best piece of photo gear I've added to my studio in ages. I can place different elements anywhere I want and create really amazing bokeh with custom depth of field. Nice to see quality, well-thought products that contribute to our local economy. A win on all levels.

I got the jumbo version of the QuadHands flat plate. So far, in the short time that I've had it, the station has proven to be very useful while soldering and tinkering on projects.The apparent weight of the plate can be deceptive as it just looks like a thin sheet of metal; however, it is a heavy piece of steel that is sturdy and wont budge at all. This goes the same with the arms, once you set them in the desirable position, they'll stay there!The powder coat is a really nice touch and i was scared when i had a bit of solder land on it, i was able to scrape it off easily with no damage to the finish.I do recommend that if you have the counter space and the need for a product like this then you should definitely go with the extra large version that is around 17" wide and 11" deep.

This is just an outstanding product. I was missing one of the rubber feet. I may have lost it, not sure. I reached out directly to the manufacturer (instead of Amazon) and they priority shipped me some replacements. I have two of their models and they're superb.

I pair this with a Panavise for soldering. Ultimate combo. Nice solid steel base and articulate arms. Very strong magnets. Alligator clips have good clamping force. Flexible arms are strong, and therefore quite stiff. You won't be able to bend them into any shape. Overall a great product.
