bought this for emergency water purification, and for my CPAP machine, in case of grid failure. we have emergency propane to last for a few months and a good stove. (I do have stuff to remineralize the water if we need it for consumption. I have salts, calcium, magnesium and know how much to use)the still came faster than I expected, is sturdier than I expected (especially for the price), and was packaged really well. while I don't need any of the brewing stuff, it all seems straight forward and if someone were using this to get started with such practices and was on the tightest of budgets, I can see how it could be useful.as for water, the setup took minutes and I'm pretty good to go whenever I need it. put it back in the box, and it's on the shelf with the rest of my emergency supplies.very please with the practicality and price

The media could not be loaded. Had this 13.2 gallon still come with assembly instructions, I would have given it 5 stars. Instead, it included a booklet covering contents and recipes, but no guidance on how to put everything together. This leaves buyers guessing which pieces go where, potentially adding hours to the setup time. That said, don’t let this discourage you as there are helpful videos on YouTube that walk you through the assembly process. Once you see it done, it's actually very straightforward.Overall, this is an excellent budget-friendly still. It even comes with extra seals and a water pump, which is a great bonus. I highly recommend it, especially for hobbyists getting into distilling. We are pulling 140-158P heads with Tails from our last run in the 3/4 filled thumper.Can't beat this price per performance.Happy Brewing!

Works great for what I am using it for! Easy assembly (don't count on instruction with item) if you watch a few videos. I find the thumper works best if set off to the side. Pot is light weight so I put a baking pan between the pot and the heat just so maybe it helps the life of the pot before it starts to get any holes in it. I plan to upgrade the thermometer just because it seems to stick around 190. I may find out it is fine. If so I just have an extra. If you plan on using this a lot you will eventually need to invest in more thread tape and possibly the rubber seals. All in all worth the money for a beginner. Highly recommend.

My husband has wanted one of these forever and is very happy with his gift. He hasn't tried it yet but is looking forward to using it. I got the 5 gal because I want it to fit on our stove. The bigger ones are quite large. Per my research, there is a bit of a learning curve so I also bought him some how-to books. Experienced distillers said there are lots of good YouTube videos to learn from as well. Cheers!

5 gallon versionLet's start with the directions on how to put it together . Then how to use it . The thermostat they sent must be an updated one as it's not like the picture . Which is fine but add that in the direction as an update page.As for the product, it works . I used it as a water distiller ,the rest I just left in the box .Now I wouldn't use it right away to start drinking the distilled water . It has a metallic industrial smell . I only boiled a half gallon through it in 2 hours so it does work . It would work better if the condenser coils were more of and a bigger cooler . So for now 3 stars since it does work but I'll drop it to 1 star if that metallic smell doesn't go away

Was exactly what I had ordered. Well built good quality

I bought the kit during a sale and saved about $30. The kit was delivered with no water pump even though it was in the description.Found the company on their website and did a chat. Took a bit to get a response, but they basically said "your 30 day window ain't up, you should return it we dont have any water pumps."What a waaaaaaste of resources to ship it back and then buy it again for the non sale price just to hopefully get a water pump. Or just buy one and forgo the sale price. I think I am talking myself into just returning this thing and never dealing with the company again. Either way I will never buy their crap again. The thing looks like its going to work but will be real fussy with the seals and such. All of the materials are not good quality, but will last me for a while if I keep it since I am careful with things. Probably will have to buy new fittings and seals and tubes to do more than a half dozen runs, so its a good starter set if one isn't sure as long as you can deal with low quality all around for a time.
