This is so cute :). It lit up right when I got it out of the box. I have someone in mind who loves gnomes and lights so it will be just the gift for her! It is lightweight (she is a senior) so a perfect gift!

Placement of the solar panel on the back limits usefulness for some.
My wife is in love with these light-up gnome figurines, and this one has the potential to be great, so long as you have a place to put it and you will be viewing it from the north side. The way our house is laid out, any place we want to use this figurine, the solar panel faces north, and it does not get enough charge to run. So we had to flip it around. This means that you now see the solar panel. Aside from this caveat, it is a great piece; just be aware and consider where you plan to place it.
