The description lies about the plan and watch the free 30 days
The product description is a lie. The most data you can get is 8 gigabytes a month for $75 for 30 days and it's not unlimited. Also my mr1100 only 11 free days of service when it advertised 30 days free. The internet worked great for a couple days but the seller should take the time to fix the plan information.

Shutdown to unmount USB drive without bricking device
I went through two of these and gave up after bricking both of them by removing a thumb drive without shutting down first. There is no menu item to remove a thumb drive file system, if you power down and remove the drive the unit is fine. If you just unplug the drive everything continues to work until the next time you power cycle at which point it fails to connect to the cellular service and wifi fails as well so you can't get to the menus via web browser. An OEM reset doesn't help - the unit is rendered completely unusable.Avoid that and it works very well. When charging the battery it pulled 1.1A and tapered down to bouncing between 70ma and 140ma while watching an online movie which I feel is very good. The radios were trouble-free and I had no dropouts or connection problems other than as described. It's a very good unit just don't try using USB storage.

DON'T BUY
I am on my third returned box for warranty in 3 months am on ATT service. Hotspot devices are only accepted on grandfathered unlimited choice/plus multi line with mobile share data plan. You'll be lucky to get full 3.5 Mbps mostly runs at 1.5 on wifi. Don't be misled this is mega bit speed not megabyte. My average use is 100- 150 GB month shared with family. I went over 200 last month ATT throttled me the last 2weeks of the month to the point of .5 Mbps couldn't even load browser. They have just agreed not to pursue their supreme Court battle with the FTC for throttling data speeds. You will be subjected to this if data gets to high they do not use network management they flat out throttle.saved them 126 GB by hitting me with it. Also they will try telling you device can't be unlocked but it can you must be persistent. If device is paid for they must unlock it. Also turn mobile data off on your phone you can still talk text device uses data sim not VOIP like phones .your phone will eat up data if apps run mobile data in background.

Great Hotspot that offers a Ethernet Connection
I think this product has features no other mobile hotspot offers on the market. The best feature is you can have an ethernet connection available anywhere there is AT&T wireless service. The hotspot can provide mobile internet to wired devices where wireless service is available, or can be connected to a modem/router to leverage a local Internet Service Provider. This might be a more important feature in the future as we have more wireless tech it only makes sense to have a portable hub that we connect to once which in turn is connected to the internet instead of reconnecting and authenticating all of our mobile devices when we leave home base.Similar to other hotspots you are prompted to remove power once the battery is charged to preserve the life of the battery. Is there an opportunity to improve the battery managment system in case the power is not disconnected until well after the battery is charged?
