I would recommend this case
the 13in Paperlike® Bumper Case for iPad Pro 13in flap closes comfortably over the pen with the UPPERCASE BRAND gripper on. Love both products. This apple ipad pen grip made by UPPERCASE is extremely comfortable and- still attaches to my ipad and charges while over the pen. The paperlike bumper case is very nice feeling and looks stylish. I really like it. Some reviews state that the case breaks down quickly. If so I will come back and update this review. I just purchased the case and gripper Feb 2026 It is light weight and a beautiful dark grey. The quality seems to be excellent. My Ipad fit perfectly and it snapped it easily but feels secure. I would recommend Both of the products.

The only case on the market that will work with your Apple Pencil AND grip
As many iPad cases as there are on the market, I REALLY WISH THEY ALL CONSIDERED THAT SOME OF US USE PENCIL GRIPS WITH OUR APPLE PENCIL. This is the only case on the market I am able to attach my Apple Pencil without the concern of it falling off. Most folio cases have a pencil flap, but it is too short to cover the whole pencil if you have a grip on it. I don’t’ see why it would hurt to use a longer flap when it works fine with or without a pencil grip. This is one of the reasons I did not choose Zugu or ESR. The case has a nice texture that feels like kinda like denim. The lining is a soft microfiber which I would consider to be on par with Apple’s Smart Folio interior material. The fit is near perfect and the cover or closure (whatever you call it) feels thick and solid. I trust this case will hold up to the test of time. I will update this review if that changes. It states it has (2) fixed positions but I was able to get a slightly lower angle by sliding the edge of the cover a little higher up the back (similar to Apple’s Smart Folio for their M4 iPads) I would not recommend going much more or else the iPad will fall back. What could be improved? I would like there to be the SAME varying positions as Apple’s Smart Folio for their M4 iPads. Potentially a V2. Paperlike, if you are reading this, I will pay for an updated version with this feature if it is done. The cover will sometimes detach near the edge and lift. This seems to sometimes be caused by magnets or the magnets in that area are not strong enough or possibly the pencil pushing the cover off a little. Not really a major problem but something to consider. I would like there to be some kind of indention or gap somewhere on the bumper to make it easier to open the folio. As of right now I just push down and shift the cover over to open it. Overall, I really like this case. The fit and finish matches the price. The textured material feels nice and grippy. If you have an Apple Pencil grip, this is the way and even if you don’t this is still worth considering because of the bumper protection.

If you hate having to remove the pencil grip for magnetic charging, buy this!
I’m giving this case 5 out of 5 stars….though really it’s a 4.5, since Amazon doesn’t allow half ratings. The biggest advantage is that it’s one of the only protective cases on the Amazon market with enough clearance for Apple Pencils fitted with thick grips, all while keeping magnetic charging intact thanks to the secure fold-over strap. For artists who rely on larger grips, this is a rare and valuable quality of life detail because its a hassle having to remove those grips off your pencil every time you need to charge it (I paired mine with the Paperlike pencil grip, but the high quality UPPERCASE grips serve the same purposes if you want similar quality and magnetic charge compatibility) On the flip side, if you like customizing your cases with stickers or art, this probably isn’t for you. The exterior is canvas pressed on a sturdy protective ply, which makes it less of a blank surface for personal expression. That said, the canvas itself is well-threaded and looks sharp on its own, and the build quality feels solid. If practicality and Pencil grip magnetic charge compatibility matter most, this case is hard to beat. It snaps on easy, it fits snug and the buttons are easily reached.

Edges separated quickly diminishing protection
The Paperlike bumper iPad case is aesthetically a great product. The design is clean, minimal, and looks very professional. From a visual standpoint, it’s exactly what I was hoping for. Unfortunately, the durability has been disappointing. With very careful use and always storing the iPad safely, the rubber edging that’s meant to protect the case has started separating in multiple spots after only six months. This wasn’t due to drops or rough handling—just normal, careful everyday use. From a consumer perspective, the quality doesn’t match the appearance. It’s an okay case overall, but I expected better longevity from a protective case at this price point.

Poor quality
Looks good and works, but craftsmanship is low quality. I’ve been using this lightly over the past nine months and it’s starting to fray and come apart. It’s definitely not worth the $50 I paid. I expect this with a $10-20 case.
