Love the book. Would be even better with some bitesize, grab and go kind of code bits.

Wonderful intermediate introduction to programming
This is my favourite book on JavaScript, and one of my favourite introductions to programming to work through, alongside Bjarne Stroustrup's 'Programming'.It's aimed, I think, at readers who have a few months of JS under their belt and are familiar with the basic syntax. It is a wonderful combination of clear explanations of the concepts that shape the language, and exercises that drive home your understanding. The author's own code (in the book and on github) is elegant and a great inspiration to learn from.I'm not sure I'd recommend the book to a complete beginner, but for anyone with a bit of programming experience looking to deepen their understanding and start to write full applications, I can't recommend it enough.

From JS programmer to software engineer, previous knowlege of ES6 beneficial
I enjoyed the book. It is not a beginners book or a reference book.Knowledge of ES6 syntax is a plus. Although the book starts from the very basics and introduces new syntax as needed, it assumes you remember the syntax and concepts along with their nuances straight away, and can apply them.A programmer with no JS knowledge may appreciate this book if there are willing to investigate the syntax when the examples don't make sense.I enjoyed the code examples and exercises. Thought they where great at testing one had grasped the concepts and JS skills. It is a great JS refresher book that could point out gaps in your knowledge. If you are self taught and want an idea of software engineering concepts missed from formal education, I think this book might offer some insights.

Good, but a bit overrated
Not a bad book by any means, but a bit too much fluff and sometimes the author tries to show off a bit too much how 'intelligent' he is by coming up with overcomplicated analogies like in the async chapters.

Best Book
This is the perfect book for javascript. It covers many topics and is not for beginners. But I am very satisfied with the book . All the pages and the cover is also very good. It is worth it.
