Walking-Stick Umbrella U-115 (crook handle) Made in Poland

Just opened it up and popped one of the included rubber ends at the tip to turn it into the umbrella cane capable of supporting my 200lb weight! Nice design on the handle! I will comment on it again after using it as a cane/umbrella for a few weeks! Ok. It’s well built, keeps you dry like an umbrella should, and it does a good job! I haven’t used it in a hard storm yet, but I am confident in its ability. It does not offer the strength to confidently support my weight (200lbs) as a cane, but I can use it as a walking aid and that is as good as any umbrella I have ever used. The handle differs from regular cane handle. It is comfortable for me (x-large hands). The solid bar of the umbrella bends when any weight is applied as a cane. It is a very nice umbrella, and I don’t regret purchasing it. I would not recommend it for someone who needed a cane to walk. It is really expensive for a regular umbrella. But, it’s a really nice umbrella! I would recommend it for anyone looking for a quality umbrella.

I bought this umbrella after a bit of thought. I live in California. Everything seems to be illegal . You can not even carry a bat in your car with out the destination being a ball field and proof you actually have a reason for it. My wife and I recently went on a trip which lasted a week and this umbrella proved to be worth the acquisition. It is strong very light when you consider its size and the fabric tough as hell. The umbrella has a steel tip which protects the polymer end from being damaged. The grip is so comfortable to hold and the whole unit is very well engineered. The canopy is large not as big as a golf umbrella but big enough for two people to get under in a down pour. I am very pleased with this purchase. I keep this in my car now as a permanent fixture . The stays or ribs that open the unit are all some kind of stiff yet flexible polymer . No metal pieces to pierce the canopy or rust. No button to push in order to close the unit you simply pull the ribs back down toward the handle . You do push a button to release the mechanism to open it though. It comes with a protective sleeve that can easily be put in your pocket or left in the car when the umbrella is used. The protective sheath or cover is useful and keeps the UV rays from the umbrellas shell when it is not in use. I would definitely buy this product again. I mentioned this before but this is the lightest umbrella of this size I have ever picked up not to mention the absolute toughest.

Hi, I got fed up of cheap umbrellas and almost out of spite I bought both a the Filson and the Unbreakable (UB, my abbreviation) umbrellas. I thought it would be useful to compare the two. Both are great items and relatively well constructed. The Filson is a manual action, has a a kind of fiberglass or urethane shaft that simulates wood and a tough fabric that reminds me of oiled canvas. The canvas is otter brown and the shaft and handle are a warm maple. It has a plastic tip. The UB has an automatic button type action. (Sorry I forgot what the shaft is made of but it's plenty strong.) The fabric is black lightweight nylon. It has a rounded steel tip. The chief thing I like about the Filson is it's looks and charm. The action is good but not as good like the UB's. The fabric is actually tougher compared to the thin nylon of the UB. While the UB looks purely functional the Filson looks like you just might have a spot of tea when you get in from the rain. The Unbreakable is marketed like it's some kind of weapon. It is black and has a "function only" design-- ie aesthetics wasn't much of a consideration. The rubberized handle is very solid in the hand, and I like the internal action-- it feels more sturdy and smooth. But the thin nylon fabric is no match for the thicker oiled canvas of the Filson. The thin nylon makes the UB easier to fold up. Note too that the steel tip can, yes, be used to gouge someone in the neck (rolling my eyes) but you cannot use this on hard smooth surfaces as a cane. It will slip all over the place. In short, if you're a liberal arts major, get the Filson. If you're a SWAT team member, get the UB. I wouldn't want to give up either. I keep the UB in the truck and the Filson in the house for when I have to make the hike to the mailbox.

Purchased this umbrella late 2015. Been using it when it rains, but living on the west coast, it gets light use. It is sturdy and has held up, however, the handle started to feel weird and sticky. I contacted the company and they took care of me and fixed the issue. I’m now going on 7 years, and the umbrella is still like new. I liked it so much, I got the smaller version for easier carry.

... ich muss zugeben hier fällt mir nichts anderes zu ein. Das Geheimnis der Stabilität liegt in einem durchgängigem Kolenstoff-Faserverstärktem Kunststoffrohr (vermutlich 2mm Wandstärke) als Stock, die untere Feder-Raste befindet sich direkt im Griff ohne das Rohr zu beeinflussen und da die Oberre Raste vermutlich ebenfalls aus Stabilitätsgründen weggelassen wurde ist es auch nicht möglich den Schirm im geöffneten Zustand zu arretieren. Die Qualität der verwendeten Materialien scheint sehr hochwertig zu sein, der Griff lässt sich angenehm greifen, der Schaft ist fühlbar Kohlenstoff-Faser (hat allerdings nicht die bekannte Optik), der Schieber und auch das Gestänge sind sind aus hochwertigem Kunststoff und ohne Abdrücke oder scharfe Überreste der Herstellung, der Stoff ist sehr dünn und geht geschätzt in die Richtung Kunstseide da der Regen ähnlich eines Lotuseffekts abperlt, die Abdeck-Kappe ist eine aufgeschraubte Kunstkappe und die Spitze ist ein ca. 3cm langer Rundstahl mit einer Kugelform als Spitze die wiederum sehr gut mit dem Stock verklebt ist. Ich habe lange nach einem vernünftigen Schirm gesucht dessen Spitze den unsanften Bodenkontakt mühelos wegsteckt, dieser eignet sich auch als Spazierstock der problemlos geschätzt mit gut 30kg (vermutlich ist es sehr viel mehr aber ich will meinen ja nicht unbedingt kaputt machen) belastet werden kann. Ich muss gestehen das der Preis schon ausschlaggebend bei meiner Suche war und dieser Schirm doch recht spät in die nähere Auswahl kam. Bei unbeständigem Wetter ist er mittlerweile mein ständiger Begleiter, er komplettiert sozusagen mein Outfit aber auch wenn ich mal Abends unterwegs bin so fühle ich mich doch sicherer mit einem Gegenstand in der Hand besonders wenn die Strassenbeleuchtung dunkle Ecken oder Gassen zulässt. Ich teste mein Schirm in der nähe von Bremen und ich muss sagen das er den Windverhältnissen hier gut standhält wobei ich es natürlich vermeide ab einer gewissen Windstärke aufgrund gesunden Menschenverstandes einen Schirm zu benutzen. Im Aufgespannten Zustand lassen sich durch den dünnen Stoff Lichtzeichen erkennen so das man sich doch recht sicher, auch mit eingeschränktem Sichtfeld, bewegen kann. Denen unter uns die solch ein Schirm kaufen um diesen in erster Linie gegen mögliche Bedrohungen einzusetzen sei gesagt das dieser Schirm nicht zu den heiligen Reliquien zählt und seinem Träger auch keine besonderen Kräfte verleiht, dieser Schirm ist ehr ein Hilfsmittel das sich gegen Angreifer einsetzten lässt und vermutlich auch den ein oder anderen Hieb unbeschadet übersteht. Abschließend noch erwähnt das ein unverhältnismäßiger Gewalteinsatz auch wenn es um den Eigenschutz geht unter umständen einige Probleme mit der Polizei bzw. Justiz mit sich bringen könnte. In diesem Fall währe der Einsatz eines Regenschirmes sicher leichter erklärt als der Einsatz einer Stabtaschenlampe oder eines Baseballschlägers...

Hervorragender Regenschirm mit schlagkräftigen Qualitäten. Habe dieses Modell mit Rundgriff für mich und jenes mit geradem Griff für meine Frau gekauft. Ein guter Materialmix, kombiniert mit klasse Handling und zeitlosem schicken Design machen diese Schirme zu Begleitern für alle Tage. Wer sich mit der Handhabung eines solchen Schirms, für den Fall einer notwendigen Selbstverteidigung beschäftigt, sollte für die meisten Situationen gut gerüstet sein. Forget all the silliness around "tactical" uses. This is simply an excellently well made, super-robust, very smart looking umbrella, suitable in length for taller people. Really excellent.
