Art of Evil Within

I purchased one of the hardcover versions of the book, and I was absolutely blown away by the quality. The book structure itself was in excellent condition and appeared to have hardly been used. The pictures and text were of detail I had never seen before in a book. For the hardcovers that are under $500, I recommend this for any big-time fan of The Evil Within. It is worth saving up for. It brings detail and insight into the game that can’t always be found on the internet. I can only hope and assume that the digital version has an equal amount of graphic detail. Check with each seller, though, to make sure it is the quality you want. Mine was a former library book and had library tags on the cover and spine (which I am 100% okay with).

For inquisitive people like myself. We have questions about what the art embodies of the minds it is supposed to have portrayed. This book gives amazing answers to many questions fans have about the games concept art, as well as additional ( and in my opinion more insightful) look into the depth of the various personalities we see in The Evil Within world. If I could sum up this book in one word it would be “Delicious.”

The game is highly enjoyable and the artbook itself is top quality, Dark horse books seems to nail all the right things when it comes to their artbooks. The artbook is full of infomation about the characters and the art is just incredible, The lead concept artist Ikumi Nakamura is a very talented individual, I personally don't like the Japanese art at all, but this is just pure beauty. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoyed The Evil Within, it's a must have !

Another great high quality, hardcover Dark Horse Art Book!! With 224 pages full of concept art of characters, villains, environments, props, and marketing material. Also includes an introduction from Shinji Mikami (Creator of the game) and Ikumi Nakamura (Lead Concept Artist) talking about the origins and development of the game. Most art for a particular character or enemies include beginning sketches and then include the final CG version of it. If you like video game art books and grotesque monster designs this book is for you!

The book is amazing, love all of the different costumes for each of the character especially for Kimdall and The Keeper. I would gladly give this book a 5/5 however, I noticed one significant problem with my book, I have around 20 extra pages that are the exactly same as the previous 20 pages or so in my book. So I'm not sure if I lost some artwork or I have extra 20 pages. That kind of bugged me because the book itself is amazing with all of the cool artwork in different mediums etc. If I could get a new book that is 100% correct, I would gladly give this book 5 out of 5!

Very very cool and interesting concept art book!!!! I love seeing various character designs and details for the levels. Great to pick up and look through at your own pace.

I completely Loved it! The only thing is that I Wish the book was a bit a longer, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

Being a fan of the game (before it was even released!), This was a must-have!^^It is full of lots of details regarding characters, monsters and the stages design along with their backgrounds! :)Totally loved the high-quality of this art book as well! <3

De los mejores compendios de ilustraciones de arte para videojuegos que eh adquirido. Es muy entretenido ver y estudiar la composición grafíca de los personajes utilizados para este juego. Eso si, preparate para tener pesadillas, algunas de las ilustraciones no son aptas para gente sensible.

Ótimas ilustrações e tamanhos. Uma ótima qualidade e impressão, adorei o acabamento e o papel usado para a impressão. Deveria só ter preços mais baixos rsrs.

The Godfather/Creator of survival Horror, Shinji Makami (Resident Evil) returned to our consoles with a solid, genuinely unsettling Horror game and over the 224 glossy pages of this Hardcover Companion Art Book you get to see how he and his talented team of Artists/Developers brought to life the Macabre/Distressing creations locked away in the Dark Recesses of their minds. You have your run of the mill Cliché-ridden Survival Horror Antagonist with fetching Trench Coat and 2 day old stubble, nothing remarkable there, but the 3D Renderings of the Mutated Humans and Nightmarish Creatures are top shelf.The detailed graphic depictions of abnormal tissue damage, burnt blistered/exposed flesh on the groaning shuffling "Haunted" are delightfully detailed, as in the first 2 Silent Hills I love the idea of your repressed/subdued emotions manifesting themselves into twisted grotesque monsters, I particularly thought Ruviks sister, Laura, a spider-like creature born from the memory of Laura's tragic death and symbolizing Ruviks vengefulness was especially interesting. The "Keeper" probably became the enemy most synonymous with The Evil Within after his unveiling at E3, his appearance resembling that of a butcher and a combination safe for a head, Symbolising where Ruvik hid his research and his unbridled rage for anyone who attempted to access it.Although the book isn't all enemies with names like Sadist and Heresy, there is also some really moody environmental art of the Asylum and Ruviks eerie hidden away mansion, overall a must if you enjoyed the game and provides interesting insight into the mind of one of the industries veterans, highly recommend.
