Ultimately, this can be delicious…
I found this to have a bit of a strong bite to it. As it states in the description: there is a molasses taste to it. I could taste it.To minimize the strength of the molasses accents, I put a few teaspoons of this with some organic raw honey and a little sweet clover. Holy COW. I am presently drinking that cup of Darjeeling tea I put those honeys in.It’s pretty good. By itself the Buckwheat for me, personally, is a little strong. It would probably be delicious added in with baked beans or oatmeal. One reviewer was pretty dissatisfied with the appearance of this particular variety and I am not one for dismissing anyone’s opinion on anything. When my highly anticipated Buckwheat honey got here it was around 95* F around 8:00 pm on a summer night in the desert and the box it arrived in had been in a hot UPS truck since 9:00 am the same day.The temperature probably reached over 100* easily inside the UPS truck so when it arrived at my door and I opened the jar shortly afterwards, the consistency of the honey was smooth and fluid. At room temperature it will most likely nearly solidify if it’s anything like or the same as the sweet clover honey WHICH when that happens requires you to dig into it with a spoon. This is an extremely healthy food but spoonful for spoonful has a higher sugar or calorie content than regular sugar, BUT it’s just way better for you. It isn’t a low calorie food though by any stretch. So I would say in conclusion that taste is, honey-wise, maybe an acquired one. It doesn’t taste like any traditional honey I ever had previously. IF there is some actual molasses component then this is logically higher in naturally occurring iron as molasses is rich in iron as in brown sugar wherein the darker the natural sugar the more molasses rich it is.I was hoping that would be more clear the first time through. Maybe you get the idea just the same. Finally, I LIKE this, I MIGHT buy more again some time but it won’t be my first choice for as I stated at the beginning of this review I had to add two other types of honey to get it to a more agreeable taste for me. Once I got that taste by adding in the sweet clover and raw organic honeys, again WOW. THIS is delicious. I am going to finish my tea now. This is really good the way I have it now. I hope this helps.

Stops cough in tracks
I use manuka honey 20+, but I'm not kidding, the buckwheat honey is SUPERIOR to stopping coughs in tracks! Love the manuka for killing bugs, and also cuts and in drawing salves (mixed with activated charcoal and bentonite clay), but for coughs, I guess buckwheat honey outshines. Couldn't sleep due to coughing from a cold. I got up and had about 1 tsp (like a measuring tsp worth) of this buckwheat honey. Coughed once more (like just one cough not one coughing bout), and slept the rest of the night until morning. This stuff has a very strong, unusual taste. My kids like it a lot, but that doesn't mean all kids would. My kids have a very diverse palate because I haven't coddled their tastebuds right from the time they started solids. So, I would expect most kids nowadays would not like the taste. However, it does taste sweet at least. It kind of tasted barnyardy almost to me. However, I don't know if it is because we are closer to bottom of jar or if my tastebuds are adjusting to the unique flavor, I actually am starting to LOVE a small dollop of it in oatmeal porridge. It almost tastes caramel like to me now.For the cough aid benefits alone, you just have to have this in the house. It also isn't toxic and full of crappy ingredients and dyes like pretty much every cough syrup out there is. I am happy the company appears to be very responsible in testing for pesticides, heavy metals, and watching out for gmos and remote areas, so this honey is as clean as possible. Thank you for making this!

Unusual taste and aroma for a honey
This honey is molasses like with dark color and nice texture with a nice aroma. It can be added to coffee or consumed as is. It is good to let the flavor settle in and wash it down with a glass of warm water.

Darkest honey I've found
This is the darkest honey I've ever bought, and that's what I was looking for. It has very minor flavor notes that make it interesting. Manuka honey is brand name that marketers make you pay a lot of money for. This has the same health benefits but it's cheaper, even if it's still more expensive than I'd like. It tastes great, it's raw, and made away from pesticides. I don't understand the reviews about it being rock hard. Maybe they were unlucky but mine was liquid. In any case, honey never goes bad. Just add a little water if it has dehydrated.

Great Tasting Full-Bodied Honey
This buckwheat honey tastes great--it reminds me a bit of a hint of a taste of royal jelly and bee pollen in a sweet honey. This is honey for natural honey lovers who enjoy the raw taste of bee products. I grew up close to a family that kept bees and this honey reminds me of that childhood raw honey. I love this stuff.I enjoy it over butter on top of toasted bagels.

Bad Honey
When my honey received his honey for his birthday, he thought it was a joke! You could tell before I even opened it that it was bad. There were visible bubbles throughout the whole jar. When opened, it was hard as a rock and it smelled horrible. I took a spoon to see the consistency and it was nothing but dried up honey that obviously was not edible. I can't even return it due to their no return policy so i am stuck with a $20 jar of dried up honey nobody can even use.

Great product
Originally bought for cough. After reading about it, I have it on toast every morning. Just finishing my first jar and I am very pleased with how I feel. No cough at all but mostly more entergetic. I am really glad I found out about this product. I did extensive reading before the purchase. I have not missed a day of having a tablespoon of it. Great product,

Great Honey
With Manuka Honey getting so pricey with higher ratings(can you even trust those), I began to research other high quality honey's. "Bucketwheat" honey always came up as one of the top honeys to buy for health.Advertised as being even better in some cases than Manuka honey, I started trying different brands, and this is the latest. This came well packaged(glass) and has a strong smell which I don't mind, the taste is strong as well, but I plan to use it with hot tea's and in smoothies. I am happy with this honey, might not be for everybody, but I like it.It might be an acquired taste, if you have never had it, you won't know until you try it.
