There are still the only freeze proof sill cocks that relieve hose pressure when turned off. Without this feature, if you fail the remove hose for winter the otherwise frost proof valve will freeze and split.Had to replace older version with plastic handle/parts that broke. This has improved back flow pressure relief that does not squirt as much.

dose what it should, but
The valve shuts the water off and seems to fully drain, which are its main functions. However it also requires aproxomatly 1-1/2 turns before it turns on, and again shutting off. Thats plus the turns for flow rate. Coming from a 1 turn valve I didn't realize I was spoiled. One note is that they marked borrow on the threaded end for outside alignment, but it was off about 1/8 rotation so you should check this ahead of installing and under-tighten and check level.Besides the quirks it dose seem to be made well, and looks like it will last a long time.

This revies applies to all model 25 and model 27 wall hydrants and the rebuild and upgrade kits.
I am a Plumber. This is the 3rd Model 27 (25) I have put in my house. the first 2 I installed in 2003 (review written in 2015). A month ago the nylon gear attached to the handle broke (my fault- I was working on my deck and a board hit the handle, not the highest level commercial faucet would have survived). I went on the Woodford web site and found the rebuilt kit and a video detailing how to disassemble/reassemble the faucet. I bought 2 rebuild kits with an upgraded anti-siphon (upgrades the model 25 to a model 27) and completed the repairs in about half an hour (15 min each). I rebuilt the 2nd faucet to upgrade to the model 27 anti-siphon. The model 27 anti-siphon allows for less back spray when you shut off the faucet and there is a hose handing on a real next to the faucet. The model 25 will get you wet unless you disconnect the hose before you shut off the faucet. Anybody who knows how to run a Vice Grip pliers, Crescent wrench, a screw driver, and can follow simple directions can rebuild this faucet. Even if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself you can save money buy ordering the rebuild kit and calling a plumber (or most handymen) so they can do the job in 1 trip rather than coming to your house, getting the model number, ordering the part, then returning to make the repair.Cost breakdown; $60 for this high end residential faucet. Cost for replacing a wall hydrant, by a plumbing company would run $250 to $800 (depending on wall/ceiling repair). Cost to rebuild the model 25/27 - $25 (DIY) to $175 ($150 for a plumber - $25 for the rebuild kit). Even if you add the initial $60 to the cost (60 + 175 = $235) it's still less than the cost of having a plumber replace a cheap $20 wall faucet that can't be rebuilt 10 years after installation.Typically I would install commercial level plumbing in my house (about $230 each faucet). However, because of constant R&D in commercial plumbing, changes in this market are common and rebuild kits are not always available (or hard to find) for years or decades as with residential models.
