Has an extremely strong odor when first opened. Acrid and overpowering. Might be the foam, might be an adhesive, but something is offgassing. I can update this in the future if anything being stored inside gets damaged by whatever chemical it is. Other than that, not bad. Big latches. Ad clearly showed that this had a manual pressure valve, and the truthfulness is greatly appreciated.

April 2025🍎 Summary – this is a ‘heavy-weight’ in quality and versatility.🕮 Notes – your application and use-environment may be different from mine - so remember to think ‘outside of the box’ and adapt this product to your needs and environment.🕮 Disclaimer: I previously purchased a Lekufee for different DJI drone I have and jumped at the chance to review this particular model in Lekufee’s family of hard cases.🕮 I’ll forgo saying much here other than this is my second Lekufee case and it was easy to compare both. In the end, I would not hesitate a moment to purchase another case in the event I ever purchase another DJI drone…!➖ As a general word of enlightenment – I would strongly suggest you first open this case in a well-ventilated area – preferably outdoors, then remove and spread out the pre-cut EVA foam inserts and allow it all to air out for a few hours. The reason is that EVA foam needs to de-gas after its manufacture. It stinks beyond belief, as do many types of plastic and foam products.✅ The good news about the Lekufee family of cases is that they use EVA foam. EVA foam material is known to be gentle to the touch (it doesn’t scratch much). However, it also maintains a generally “firm” form due to its tiny air bubbles. So – the material is soft, but the tiny bubbles make the structure firm. Kind of an oxymoron situation.✅ As for the case – it’s heavy duty. A web site photo shows someone standing on the case. Possible? Perhaps, but I’ll trust the photo.✅ Several notables: the latching system is well designed in that you must first unsnap it, then disengage the clamp.✅ The case does have an air-pressure equalizer ‘valve’ to aid in opening the case in the event it was closed at a higher elevation, and you want to open the case at a lower elevation. In effect there would be a vacuum in the case making it difficult to open without equalizing the pressure differential.✅ The handle is hard plastic with a band of rubber that provides a firm grip even if wet.✅ The handle ‘snaps’ into either an upright or lowered position. There’s nothing in between and it makes storing it or trying to lift the case much easier. Good design idea!✅ There are two (2) each 2.75” metal-pin hinges.✅ Lastly – the waterproofing rubber seal is substantial.➖ From a consumer’s perspective my suggestions to Lekufee are two: 1) While I appreciate the waterproof rubber cover seal and realize nothing lasts forever, I’d suggest Lekufee offering replacement seals for your entire case line-up. 2) I’d also suggest offering pull-apart replacement EVA foam inserts for all your cases allowing the consumer to customize your cases for extra accessories or other uses.🛒 SUMMARY: While there may be other hard case manufacturers out there, you can’t go wrong with selecting Lekufee’s family of products. All my drones are protected using their well-designed and reasonably priced hard cases. If you do your homework and compare product design and quality, you’ll do a Lekufee!

I really wish I could give a higher rating for this, because it is a REALLY nice case. I like the latching mechanism, I like the weight and feel of the case (I'm not about to rigorously test it but it does seem like it could be thrown around without worry.)The only reason I'm NOT giving 4 or 5 stars is because it STINKS. Literally. I opened it up and just got smacked by the most awful chemical-y ammonia smell. I slammed it shut so fast, and my sinuses still burn. I have taken it outside and opened it up to air out, but definitely do not open it for the first time indoors. Thank me later.It's a good size, it's very easy to open and use, and I believe it will function very well for its purpose (and my intended use for it which I will admit, is not for the device listed.) I do believe the price is good, too; at $50, you'll be hard-pressed to find a case of this quality AND enough foam to hold your devices. Plus, the holes are already cut for you, you don't have to fiddle with foam cutters and sharp tools.But seriously. It smells. I would get it again just for the case, but I hope that smell can air out, otherwise it defeats the purpose.
