I believe the design concept was meant to fill a niche market for people who would like to occasionally play a CD quickly without turning on the stereo, or searching for a boombox. It also has the added advantage of having an FM tuner, double as a bluetooth speaker, and playing mp3's from a USB. Some design changes I would make to this unit is to have the ability to turn off the bright white LED light from the CD tray, and an ability to turn off the CD without having to put it in pause (the CD still spins in that mode) or to hit a different source, like USB, FM, or AUX to stop the CD from spinning and playing. The other major issue is that you cannot fast-forward what is playing, whether it is the CD or the mp3 on the USB. I've tried pushing and holding the "next" button, but that just takes it to the next file on the USB or next track of the CD. So if you are listening to a long podcast on mp3, you can't skip quickly to the part you want to listen to or expect it to play from the last position where you left off. Same with the CD. It always starts from the beginning. Lastly, it would be nice to have a dust cover when not in use. There are several similar units for sale that are similarly priced, which appears to use the same style/mechanism, and none of them have dust covers either.

The sound quality is great for such a small unit. But for a product that is supposed to be a CD player it would help if the CD function actually worked. I had thought it was because it was an imported CD. Audio CD doesn't have regional encoding so it made zero sense when it played on virtually everything else except for the product. Even tried various US produced music CD not a single one read. Basically a very pretty radio. Would not recommend anyone purchasing this. Best to go with a generic walkman or even a component system.

Just received product. Okay sound over headphones or computer speakers. CD player has limited buttons on unit because most of the functionality is provided through the remote control. However, the remote control sent does not work so it is a hassle to use the CD player.Expected better quality from a $40+ product.Would not buy again and would not recommend product.

I am not sure id say cheap but very light weight plastic, however, I think that the price is good and once you wall mount it - it stays relatively in place and you need the light weight feel. I need to now invest in a battery. The sound is superior - more so than I expected it. If you USE the stand don't expect to pull the power cord to turn it on (yes that's how you turn it on) - it's a little like the older pull lights on a ceiling fan. Maybe I am missing a way to secure it to the stand. If I can get the remote working, I can use that. I really got this for my 72 year old mom to listen to all her oldies CD's - she really likes it. I bought this unit to play library books on cd. It mounted on the wall easily, and works well, with a good loud speaker. Perfect if only the remote would work. I even changed the battery in the remote, thinking that perhaps it was bad, but no luck. It isn't a deal breaker for me, but it might be for you.

I like that fact that I can use it in any room in the house or in my car. My car does not have a built-in CD player so this is a real plus. Speakers are good. Pleased with it.

Bought this as birthday gift for my 8 year old grandson. He loved it. Perfect for him

Typically I feel very comfortable ordering from Amazon as I have always been able to return items that aren't up to par. Evidently not this time. :(
