Paper Mate Clearpoint Mechanical Pencil Starter Set, 0.7mm Mechanical Pencil (2050154)

I prefer pencils to pens because, well, I make some mistakes and it is nice to erase them. I have used Papermate products for years, but found these through working at the office. I really like how they are a little larger than the standard pencils and feel more solid in my hand. The finger grips are a great touch and keep the pencil securely in hand. The extendable and replaceable eraser is great for all of those mistakes I tend to make while writing in a hurry, and the side-action button to extend the lead makes it so don't have to stop mid-sentence to tab the end (or even worse, twist the front part). Added bonus that this came with extra lead and two backup erasers. These clearpoint pencils have replaced all my other ones, both at home and at the office.

All papermate pens seem to be made of good quality. I have several of them plus a forte and a Retro-51 received as a gift. All are great writing instruments.

So nice to have a mechanical pencil that has a reliable way to restore the lead.

Overall same as I would get most other places. The packaging was a little banged up in the front, but not to the point the products were damaged. One thing I noticed is that it was more difficult to push out the lead than my older ones (same kind, same brand). The eraser is fine, doesn’t go down when erasing, just harder to push out the lead. It’s not as smooth or easy as before but the more I do it the better it gets. Overall, really good. Good grip, doesn’t slip out of your hand easily. It’s comfortable and generally great. Usually one costs 4 bucks so getting 3 for about 6 is a great deal.

Use them for crossword puzzles. Nice eraser that doesn't smudge.

I love the sleek design of these pencils! I have purchased them before and I must say, I will purchase again! Makes writing more interesting.

My son, for whatever reason, is very picky about his mechanical pencils. We finally found these and he likes these more than the other ones. I believe it's because the eraser lasts much longer and doesn't come out when he's trying to correct a mistake.
