A really great bag at really reasonable price...
This bag just made its maiden voyage from Ohio to Montana and back with no issues. Not only did it fit all of my fishing gear in the bottom compartment, but the main compartment held enough for a 10 day trip. The only issues that I have are with the boot compartment and rod stowage. My wading boots (size 13) were a real challenge to get in the boot compartment. It is, however, a very nice feature. My two fishing buddies have the Fish Pond bags, which cost $300 and have no boot storage. My boots were still pretty wet when I packed for the airport, so these pouches are really handy! The only other issue is with rod stowage in the bottom compartment. My 10'6" Echo Shadow II 4 piece is a "shoehorn" fit. It literally had to be wedged in there. Lastly I should probably mention that this bag holds enough gear to be overweight at the bag check with the airlines. Mine weighed in at 48.5lbs, just 1.5lbs shy of the limit. So, be sure to weigh your bag before leaving for the airport! The bottom line is that I'm very happy with this purchase!

Wish it were more durable
I've been using this bag for a little over a year now. I use it as a daily luggage for driving around the country for my job. The material itself is good, but the zippers are starting to fall apart, especially on the backside where you stand it up at. All the zipper pulls have broken, i've replaced those with split rings. The waterproof compartments lasted about 7-8 months before starting to deteriorate.I feel like this would be a great buy for someone that will use this occasionally, but for daily use, look elsewhere. It wasn't cheap and now i'm looking at buying something else in a year, whereas my garage sale used luggage find for 5$ lasted almost six years. Sometimes it's just too good to be true.

AMAZON TESTED
I don't normally take the time to write a review but my experience with this luggage requires it. I recently took a trip to the Colombian Amazon - my second trip to the jungle. I went primarily to fly fish but ultimately brought more tackle than I anticipated and this luggage held it all. Safely and securely. It is a little taller than a typical ski bag or even a fishing piece of luggage but its overall volume is the same. It kept my gear, clothes and provisions safe from Miami to Bogota, From Bogota to the airstrip in the jungle then thru portage and ultimately a 3 hour occaisionally wet trip by river to our camp. On the way back conditions were quite rough and quite a bit of my clothing was packed wet for the journey home. I used one of the three waterproof compartments (I guess designed for waders) and got the balance of my packed goods home safe and sound. For a company I never heard of before they have an exceptional product at a better than fair price.

Very Nice but....
The duffel is made of great material and seems durable. It has many pockets, but the wading boots compartment should be bigger and deeper we all know those boots are bolky. The duffel should be wider and have some deeper pockets for fly lines and more equipment, specially if you going somewhere remote, but I like it.,At first I wanted to return it,but I decided give a try. It is a pricely I had Riccardo from Costco for $50 past 10 years and it started falling apart. I was able to fit two waders ( inbcase of leak there is nothing worse than cold water seaping in waders) ,pair of boots and some clothing, box of 6 fly rels. Other stuff I have in my back pack and fany pack. I reduced my equipment only for steelhead fishing and all light equipment put a side. Will see how it will perform))))

Best Bag for Flyfishing International
Really good bag. Like the compartment for the rods. I canโt tell that anyone makes a bag like this. Thank you! In my opinion better than what Simms or Patagonia offers for similar product. Couple of suggestions for improvement if youโre interested:Use a higher quality zipper. Although I didnโt have any issues, the zippers concern me for repeated use/abuse.The dry pockets are useless. Donโt spend money on these. Just make them regular pockets. They are not big enough to put wet stuff in (such as waders). They seem useless and just take up space. Is it possible to make the rod section more rigid? Typically on trips I like to have 3-4 rods with me. Putting the rod tube in is a waste of space but felt inclined to leave in rod tube because the rods are about 800 each. Thanks for making an amazing product! Really look forward to seeing future additions and improvements. Look forward to taking mine on my next adventure!

Durable and Spacious
Just got back from using it fishing, holds all gear plus rod. Compartments useful but did not use waterproof compartments for wet boots as I did not want to clean the pockets but rather used plastic bags for boots. Good Zippers and handles in the right places. No airline damage visible

Great bag at reasonable price
I've used once so far - and bag holds up well to travel. Seems to be well made, with handles in logical locations so that it can be picked up easily. Would be nice if it stood on it's end, but not a deal breaker.Overall a very good product for the price.

Well Made and Well Designed
Great for long rods. I was able to lay a 3 piece 8'-6" rod diagonally with shorter rods lengthwise. The bottom section is very rigid and should protect the rods no problem. Also able to put my chest waders in the top section with more than half of the bag still able to use for other items. Also have TWO end zippered pockets that have a waterproof lining. I like the idea that there are two top adjustable cross straps to cinch the bag tight. Good quality wheels that are very quiet. The best bag that works well for fishing and meets the airline size requirements.

Best value. Could be improved. But a good choice.
There aren't many travel bags out there that are like this (Long. Hard bottom. Soft top) Of the ones that do exist, this bag is the most economical. For those complaining about build quality...first, you could buy two of these bags for the price of others. There are some materials that seem cheaper than other bags, sure. But not overly. I trust the construction just as much as any other checked bag. With baggage handlers and powered baggage conveyors how much can you really trust any bag.It does have some down sides that could be improved upon. Inside storage space is much less than a normal suitcase, understandably this is because of the shape. If you want a long bag, you lose inside volume. But this means what is left should be designed wisely. While 36" inside length is great for travel rods, its almost a bit too much. I own quite a variety of different travel rods (fly, casting, spinning, surf, inshore, offshore, and various sizes of each) the longest piece out of all my rods is 32". I would like to have see an inch or two less on length distributed to the width or height. With airline restrictions on total linear L + W + H, every inch needs to optimised. ...and in this configuration, this bag is pushing what is accepted from airlines. To make storage space even more of a concern, they have made some odd choices for the design. In the bottom of the bag there are two large bars that run right down the middle of the bag pretty much splitting the area available for rods into three section. These are for the extending handles to roll the bag that only come out about 8" ...of the 36" length. These bars may also be used for strength, but I would have liked to have seen a different arrangement with bars for strength/protection running up the sides and a clip on pull strap instead of a handle (or if the bag was wider it would be less of a problem). For flyrods tubes this is fine, but still a waste of space. For large diameter tubes like a 6" travel surf rod, these don't work. To make storage in the bottom more complicated the wheel wells add two large indents right where you want the rods to go.For the top soft section. I would liked to have seen only one access zipper and the various compartments inside all accessed from inside only for security. This bag has six exterior zippers. I went with two TSA locks on the two main pockets and left the other four pockets unlocked or empty. For the two wader boot pockets. I'm still on the fence. They are great to throw in you wet waders boots or sandy beach shoes. Even a bathing suit that didn't get a chance to dry. ...or even your scented soft plastics if the main part of the bag has clothes. However, the linings of these pockets really do take up a lot of space in the upper pocket. ...and these are all problems that have been solve in the past with a plastic bag.Lastly. There are too many buckle straps and carry straps and handles. Something someday will get caught in a powered conveyor. I would like to see as few items hanging off the bag as possible. As low profile as possible. And removable carry strap with eyelets.---------Why do I check rods instead of carry on? While some airlines and even some countries security have clear rules, some don't. And of the ones that do...you just need to come across one employee that doesn't interpret the rules the same to ruin your trip. Worse, getting to your final destination may require connections though the US, home of the all mighty TSA! ...understandably, the butt section of my travel offshore trolling rods looks like a baseball bat to a TSA agent.Otherwise, I'm usually taking at least four rods with me and overhead bins can be a challenge.
