Need a lot of time to tune up/down SW band
Takes forever to get from one end to the next on the SW band coverage, I tried during the day and during the night and the only steady signal I could receive during the day was 10 Mhz time standard signal and at night, the same thing, I saved 5/15 Mhz using the memory buttons and they didn't do well during night or day, at least am/fm have decent selectivity, a mixed bag for sure. For about the same price, I'd recommend buying the XHDATA model "D-38" as it has a continuous red led display that doesn't go out and even though it has an on/off switch, it does have a variable sleep timer of up to 2 hours, (it comes with 3 language user manuals, one in English) and the SW coverage is awesome! With just the 15" whip antenna you can not only pick up 3 out of the 5 time standard signals you can easily pick up other signals along the way as there is no muting on the audio while tuning, so as long as you don't tune up/down too fast, you'll catch every signal. Now there is one band that the "YOREK" 3 band radio does better than the "D-38" and that's on AM selectivity, the YOREK has decent AM selectivity where weak signals at night do not get bled into by clear channel stations, on am the D-38 can be switched between 9/10 khz step tuning, but it makes little difference when the selectivity of the D-38 has stations beginning to appear 30-40 khz from their parent frequency, for me that's the only drawback regarding the XHDATA D-38, on SW/FM the D-38 shines like no other DSP radio, I'm amazed that some of my older radios do not have the sensitivity on SW that the D-38 possesses and that's both inside an interference trap like inside the home and outside where most sources of EMI disappear for SW reception and the most amazing thing is that for less than $15, (if you buy the red model) the 15" whip antenna is picking up signals that my more expensive SW receivers have trouble picking up with a 5' long whip antenna. But if you don't really need the SW coverage available on the YOREK 3 band, then AM/FM do a decent job even with the antenna fully retracted, just don't expect great DSP performance on SW like what the XHDATA D-38 provides.Of course the XHDATA is available here on Amazon for less than the lowest one being offered for sale on e-bay.

Not a "Gilligan's Island" radio that works endlessly
The radio works fine, the photo of it here makes it appear larger than it's tiny smaller than an Iphone size. As it is so tiny, knobs for volume and tuning would be easier to use then it's fingernail clipping sized vol + and - buttons and tuning buttons. The buttons are black too as is the case, which means you'd better have a lot of light to see what you're doing! It is impossible to turn the volume up or down or change the station in bed in a dark room, as I tried and failed to do. On top of all that, this radio eats AA batteries! After less than a week, the batteries are so run down it turns itself off after a minute or two. In closing, if you have a circumstance that makes you need a super tiny radio, this fits the bill, but I'll get a different bigger one for listening to at work and in bed.

Great Reception
Well I waited a couple of weeks to test, compare and review. Great pocket radio, great reception and good sound as well. This little unit really performs on long distance AM (MW), FM is in stereo and sounds great through headphones. One reviewer mentioned it eats batteries, I have some old alkaline's I've recharged a bunch of times and they are not rechargeable ones. I tried a couple of them and the radio only worked a short time which I expected, but I put a set of fresh new ones two week's ago and they are still performing. This radio was a great buy hands down........

Best little radio for the money (I bought 2)
This is exactly what I wanted! A portable radio with a timer function. Being battery powered is just fine. I have a rechargeable radio without a timer and it is OK, except the charge only last for about 5 hours. If I remember to recharge each night, then OK. I don't. This battery radio last for almost 4 weeks and I can replace batteries in about 2 minutes and not miss my program. Rechargeable radios have a lot of AM interference when connected to charger. This comes on 1 min before my program starts and I never miss the start. Wife has one also.

Good product !
I like this compact size, multi-function alarm clock radio. It is Battery operated. This radio has very good reception. I have two favorite radio stations, my old radio sometime cannot receive it and sometime give me the noise, but this one always give me stable clear signal. It has good sound quality too, loud and very clear. The shortwave and earbud are plus.

Good radio!
This portable radio is small enough to fit in tight spaces. It did take a few tries to get the time set but the directions are easy to follow. I could find radio stations easily and it sounds good for a portable. Good product!

Very good so far
Despite the normal design, the function of this radio is great. I don't have access to news on my TV and thus the radio has became one of the main way that I access news (the AM/FM). Plus, the radio is pretty small with good sound quality. I haven't get it for enough period of time and thus could not rate the durability and battery life for this product. I will come back and update in the future.
