Used to keep valuables secure
I'm not a climber, but rather purchased these to help keep valuables attached to me while traveling. Example, I will clip my small point and shoot camera or keys to my belt loop. I've used them to attach rockhounding tools to my work belt. The locking mechanism ensures they aren't going to accidentally come off, nor be slipped off by a pick pocket type thief.

Good for the price.
Good quality. Sometimes when I twist the top piece it gets stuck, but not a deal breaker. I just have to use it more. I would buy it again.
