These are over-the-sock boots; CLC does make boots for over-shoes. Check out R22012 5 Buckle Black and Red Rubber Boot if thats what you're looking for.

Q: what is the heigth of the boot

The boot are 15" high, and that's why I purchased them. I was fishing on a 58 foot fishing boat.

Q: Why does Amazon sell products without a cancer warning in their description that have a cancer hazard warning about the product in the packaging?

Because the snowflakes in California require cancer warnings on everything. If they didn’t try to smoke everything there would be no need for the warning.

Q: Do socks need to be worn with these boots?

Great boots...I always wear socks with them but no you don't need to wear them.
