The Creative Thinker's Toolkit
M**N
An excellent resource!
I'm so glad I bought this one, and it needs a couple more listens to fully take everything in.I work a lot with technology development, so workshops are a part of our daily process, and not all workshops are created equal. This resource has clarified a lot of what I thought I knew about creative thinking, debunked a bit more, and added a whole raft of new tools that I will be putting to good use.The course is based on Creative Problem Solving ([...]) as defined by Osborn-Parnes, which divides the whole into 4 stages: clarify, ideate, develop and implement, with a 5th meta stage - assess the situation - to be used as appropriate. There are a myriad of tools that can be used within each of these stages, and once you have started looking, there are plenty more than just those described in this course. The course is still an excellent place to start though. One comment is that while the audio course gave me all the information, I would have liked to be able to purchase the accompanying materials separately - I think they would have been useful for reference. This is a minor niggle though, and I have contacted the company that puts out these courses and been told that I can call the US office and they will help me out. Since I'm not based in the US I haven't done this yet, but I may consider it in the future. If I could have ordered them via Amazon, I would already have done so.So basically: If this is an area that interests you, or that you work with, or need to know about for work, then this course is an excellent starting point.
